Own sales growth within the general contractor and construction channel by prospecting active and pre-construction projects, influencing specifications, managing bids and proposals, maintaining an accurate CRM pipeline, and closing contracts. Build relationships with contractors, developers, estimators, and procurement leaders to secure preferred-vendor status. Coordinate internal teams for project handoffs and identify post-installation service opportunities. This field-based role requires construction-market knowledge, technical document interpretation, B2B sales experience, and disciplined long-cycle pipeline management.

IN RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF SOLUTIONS.

MOST REPS RESPOND TO THE BID LIST.

You're already on it before it exists.

DuraServ is looking for a GC Sales Representative who shapes specifications, earns preferred vendor status, and builds a project pipeline that compounds — before the competition ever gets a call.

GC Sales Representative | General Contractor & Construction Channel | Uncapped Commission. No Ceiling.

DuraServ — Multiple Territories Open Across the U.S. | Field-Based Role

This Channel Rewards the Rep Who Gets There First.

DuraServ installs and services commercial dock and door systems for some of the most demanding facilities in North America. The GC channel is where those projects start — in pre-construction conversations with general contractors, developers, and construction managers who are still designing the building. The rep who influences the specification at that stage doesn't just win a bid. They shape the entire competitive landscape before the bid list is drawn.

As GC Sales Representative, you own your territory in the construction channel — prospecting active and pre-construction projects, managing a long-cycle pipeline with discipline, earning preferred vendor relationships with GC procurement leads and estimators, and closing contracts that deliver recurring revenue long after the project is complete. You don't wait for inbound. You're already in the room.

If your edge is getting there before anyone else does — and staying there — this territory is yours to own.

What You'll Do

Get There First

  • Channel Prospecting — conduct proactive outreach to general contractors, construction managers, developers, and subcontractors to identify active and pre-construction project opportunities before they hit the bid list
  • Market Intelligence — track permits, planned developments, and competitor positioning in your local construction market; you engage before the competition knows the project exists
  • Bid & Specification Management — engage early in the project lifecycle to influence specifications, submit accurate and competitive bids, and position DuraServ as the preferred dock and door solutions provider from day one

Own the Pipeline

  • Project Pipeline Ownership — maintain a disciplined, forward-looking pipeline using CRM tools, tracking bid status, decision timelines, and competitive position on every active project; your pipeline is clean, current, and never optimistic
  • Proposal & Quote Management — prepare technically accurate, professionally presented project proposals that reflect scope, specifications, and site requirements with zero margin for error
  • Sales Cycle Ownership — manage the full process from initial bid invitation through contract award, coordinating internal resources to ensure delivery commitments are met and client expectations are exceeded

Build What Lasts

  • Relationship Development — build and sustain trusted relationships with GC procurement leads, project managers, estimators, and ownership groups to earn preferred vendor status that generates work you don't have to chase
  • Cross-Channel Collaboration — partner with End User Sales Representatives and Service Technicians for seamless project handoffs, service contract opportunities post-installation, and maximum total account revenue

Who You Are

You don't measure your week by calls made. You measure it by where you are in the project cycle — and whether DuraServ is on the spec or off it.

  • A true hunter — relentless drive to identify and pursue new construction opportunities without dependence on inbound leads or reactive bid lists; you build the pipeline, nobody hands it to you
  • Construction market literate — working knowledge of the commercial and industrial construction bidding process, project phases, and GC/subcontractor channel dynamics; you speak the language of the job site
  • Technical — you can read construction documents, interpret project specifications, and translate scope requirements into accurate dock and door solutions without needing someone to walk you through it
  • Persuasive at every level — you present ROI-driven solutions to GC decision-makers, project owners, and estimators from the field supervisor to the executive suite
  • Pipeline-disciplined — you manage a high-volume, long-cycle pipeline with CRM accuracy and consistent follow-through on every active opportunity; nothing falls through the cracks because nothing is left to chance
  • Relationship-first — in a channel where long-term trust drives repeat business, you invest in the relationship before you need the order

What We're Looking For
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience with a proven track record in construction sales, building products, or related industrial services
  • Demonstrated experience managing a project-based sales pipeline from bid to close within the general contractor or construction channel
  • CRM proficiency with the ability to manage project pipelines, bid tracking, and activity data using modern sales tools
  • Valid driver's license — you are in the field every day

What's in It for You

We don't cap the earnings of people who perform. Build the pipeline, earn accordingly. Period.

  • Uncapped commission — your pipeline, your ceiling
  • Vehicle allowance — you're in the field, we cover the road
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Generous PTO and performance incentives
  • Elite service team behind you — you win the project, they deliver it flawlessly
  • Autonomy and trust — leadership that respects your expertise and gets out of your way

A Direct Note to the Right Candidate.

The GC channel is not for everyone. The cycles are long, the relationships take time, and the rep who wins preferred vendor status earns it through consistency and credibility over months — not a single strong pitch.

But when you've built that status in a market — when your name is on the spec and your number is the first call when a new project breaks ground — the pipeline compounds in a way that a transactional sales role never can.

In relentless pursuit of solutions. That's the mindset this channel rewards — and the standard this role is built on.

APPLY NOW — We Don't Just Bid Projects. We Win Them.

Hit Apply. Tell us what project you got on spec before the competition knew it existed.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
