In this role, you’ll be the first dedicated Sales Operations hire at Peak Design building the foundation for how we support, grow, and forecast our largest global retail partnerships. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly and will be the connective tissue between PD and our Tier 1 accounts, including REI, B&H Photo, Best Buy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as our leading distributors across Europe and APAC. We need someone to own the operational engine behind these relationships: aligning demand signals, communicating inventory, shaping forecasts, surfacing sales insights, and ensuring our partners have the data and inventory they need to drive revenue and deliver an experience to Peak Design customers around the world.
You’ll be our go-to expert for creating and communicating reports that bring clarity to complex sales data, improving account health, and enabling smarter decision-making across the sales team. To meet your goals, you’ll build scalable processes, collaborate closely with Sales, Wholesale Operations, and demand planning, and figure out how to turn trends into actionable plans. We’re looking for someone with experience in sales operations and a strong analytical mind paired with excellent communication skills. A bias toward proactive problem-solving, comfort working autonomously, and familiarity with large retailers or international distributors are musts, as is the ability to create order, insight, and impact in a fast-growing, mission-driven environment.
What you'll do:- Own the sales operations relationship for Peak Design’s Tier 1 retail accounts (REI, B&H, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods) and Tier 1 distributors across Europe and APAC
- Lead partner demand planning efforts by consolidating and analyzing forecasts, collaborating with Sales and demand planner to build accurate, data-driven forecasts, and flag variances from forecast and actuals.
- Track partner on-hand inventory positions work with partner demand plan teams to hit target demand fill levels, and flag over stock risks early.
- Partner closely with sales teams to support strategic partner, dealer and distributor performance reviews.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges across systems, data flows, and partner communications, proactively identifying root causes and supporting cross-functional solutions
- 3+ years of experience in Sales Operations supporting key U.S. accounts.
- Experience supporting both domestic and global teams in a Sales Operations capacity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate with a high degree of ownership.
- ERP and EDI software experience is required.
- Flexibility to work hours that support key meetings in Pacific Time.
- Location & Travel Expectations
- Remote: Willingness to travel to the Bay Area 6+ times per year.
- Bay Area: Ability to work from the office 2–3 days per week.
- Central Coast: Ability to attend in-person meetups once per week.
- Experience with supporting REI, Best Buy, Dicks Sporting Goods or London Drugs in a Sales Operations Role
- Deep knowledge of Netsuite, SPS or Elastic Suite
- Experience with Tableau or Airtable for data management
- You will start your day by checking your slack, email and your asana task taking action on anything urgent, putting out any fires or quick wins while planning out what’s priority to get done today
- After seeing the lay of the land, you’ll meet or check in with the International team on slack and work asynchronously with them on resolving any issues with our international partners or driving sales ops projects that support EMEA and APAC before the European team ends their day.
- By the middle of the day, you’re meeting with REI’s planning team to align their POs with the REI demand planning team.
- You’re over half of the way through your day and you’re reviewing inbound orders, inventory positions, and demand signals from Tier 1 retailers and global distributors, flagging risks and opportunities before they impact revenue.
- You end your day by supporting the partnership managers account managers by preparing order recommendations, validating POs, and ensuring accurate pricing, timing, and execution across systems.
- $65,000 - $90,000
- Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Peak Design is considering for this position.
