The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for managing the existing commercial business while delivering the growth goals in the West Coast Division. While leading the commercial sales team this Manager will oversee all aspects of sales for the region including; account management, pricing, budgeting and customer relationships. This role will provide insight and vision for growth, build on New-Indy’s culture of performance, and drive continuous improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, manage and mentor the Commercial Sales Team:
    • Recruit and retain qualified employees
    • Ensure that individual and team sales targets are achieved.
    • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the team.
    • Monitor daily sales activities and provide guidance on strategies to improve sales outcomes.
  2. Customer Relationships:
    • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key commercial clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for growth.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated customer issues and provide solutions to ensure client satisfaction.
    • Maintain regular communication with clients to gather feedback and adjust strategies as necessary.
  3. Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams:
    • Collaborate with customer service to ensure seamless communication and problem resolution for clients.
    • Coordinate with shipping and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient product deliveries.
    • Partner with the finance department to manage pricing strategies, payment terms, and contract negotiations.
    • Work closely with design and graphics teams to ensure sales materials align with campaign goals and customer needs.
  4. Execute Strategy – Lead Campaigns:
    • Manage the planning and execution of targeted sales campaigns in alignment with company objectives.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies and campaigns to drive revenue growth in the commercial segment.
    • Ensure the sales team understands and follows campaign objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  5. Training:
    • Provide regular training and development opportunities for the commercial sales team to enhance skills, knowledge, and performance.
    • Ensure the team is well-informed of new product offerings, industry trends, and company policies.
    • Organize workshops, sales meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessions to continuously improve team capabilities.
  6. Reporting and Evaluations:
    • Prepare regular reports on commercial sales performance, including sales pipeline, forecasts, and actual performance against targets.
    • Conduct evaluations and performance reviews for the commercial sales team, providing constructive feedback and setting development goals.
    • Use insights from reports to identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable changes.
  7. Metric Analysis:
    • Analyze key sales metrics and performance indicators to track success and identify opportunities for growth.
    • Leverage data to improve the effectiveness of sales strategies and campaigns.
    • Continuously evaluate the performance of the sales team and campaigns to make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the corrugated industry highly preferred
  • Proven experience in commercial sales management or a related role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and other sales management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
