Job Description

What you will do

  • Lead and manage sales opportunities to achieve orders, sales, margin, and down payment targets
  • Build strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Drive the full sales process from origination and qualification through to negotiation and handover to delivery teams
  • Work closely with execution and service teams to create a positive customer experience from enquiry through to after-sales support
  • Shape customer-specific commercial strategies in partnership with regional teams, business leaders, marketing, commercial operations, and sales operations
  • Identify opportunities to include service offerings such as long-term support, digital solutions, and parts within new equipment sales
  • Share customer and market insight with product and marketing teams to strengthen our value proposition and support future product development
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and project information in CRM systems and follow established commercial processes
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, operations, and commercial colleagues to support a smooth transition from sales to project execution
  • Stay informed on customer priorities, market developments, competitor activity, pricing trends, and commercial conditions
  • Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities
  • Support strategic customer engagement, including relationship-building with senior decision-makers in key accounts

What you bring:

You bring a strong customer focus, commercial awareness, and the ability to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders. You are confident leading sales opportunities in technically complex environments and enjoy working across teams to turn ideas into outcomes.

We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have:

  • Experience in sales within the power conversion, electrification, or related energy sector
  • A strong understanding of large, complex electrical power systems
  • Knowledge of one or more markets such as ports, utilities, renewables, rail, test systems, metals, or mining
  • The ability to understand customer drivers and translate them into compelling commercial solutions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the confidence to engage customers clearly and credibly
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work with a high level of ownership
  • A consistent focus on delivering results
  • Flexibility to travel frequently within the UK and occasionally overseas

You may also stand out if you have experience in areas such as:

  • Working in an engineering, EPC, or project-based business serving large multinational customers
  • Power quality solutions for utility, grid, or industrial applications
  • Electrification solutions for infrastructure or large industrial plants, including microgrids
  • Medium-voltage direct current or alternating current grid connection schemes
  • Electrical solutions supporting hydrogen production and supply chains

A degree in engineering, business, or a related field can be helpful, but we also welcome applications from candidates who have built equivalent knowledge through relevant industry experience.

Why join us

You join a team that is helping customers solve complex electrification challenges and support the move to a lower-carbon future. In this role, you have the opportunity to influence strategy, build meaningful customer partnerships, and contribute to solutions that matter across critical industries.

You also benefit from a hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to work with experienced colleagues across commercial, engineering, service, and project teams.

Inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. If you are excited about this role but your experience does not match every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
