We are seeking a driven, results-oriented, and dynamic Group Sales Manager to lead our proactive revenue generation efforts. Drawing on best practices from leading hospitality brands, your primary focus will be hunting for new business, cultivating key corporate, association, and social group accounts, and driving group room nights. Beyond sales, as part of our versatile property team, you will also support various operational duties across the hotel as business demands require, ensuring an exceptional overall guest experience from booking to departure.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactive Sales & Outbound Prospecting: Drive revenue growth by aggressively hunting for new group business through cold calling, outbound networking, direct solicitation, site inspections, and targeted market outreach.

· Account Acquisition & Retention: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of corporate, sports, and social group accounts, turning prospects into long-term loyal clients.

· RFP & Contract Management: Efficiently manage incoming and outbound RFPs, formulate strategic proposals, negotiate contract terms and concessions, and close sales while maximizing room rates and profitability.

· Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate details of booked groups with internal departments (Events, Catering, and Rooms) to ensure seamless execution and accurate turnover.

· Property & Operational Support: Support overall hotel needs as required by business demands and fluctuations. This includes assisting with front desk operations, guest check-in/check-out, housekeeping coordination, kitchen or food and beverage support, and other property-wide tasks to maintain operational excellence and high service standards.

· Market Intelligence & Strategy: Track local market trends, competitor activity, and shifting industry demands to uncover new sales leads and maintain a competitive edge.

· Goal Achievement & Accountability: Consistently meet or exceed established quarterly group room revenue targets and outbound sales KPIs. Performance is regularly reviewed on a quarterly basis to ensure alignment with property goals and eligibility for performance-based incentives.

Qualifications & Skills

· Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of proven hotel sales experience, with a strong emphasis on proactive business development, outbound solicitation, and relationship management.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent practical work experience.

· Software Proficiency: Familiarity with major hotel sales, property management, and CRM systems (Envision, Opera, Colleague Advantage, Knowland, etc.)

· Schedule & Availability: Flexible schedule with the ability to work both weekdays and weekends as business needs, client site tours, and industry events require.

· Travel Readiness: Ability to travel periodically for client meetings, trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences.

· Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds (such as marketing collateral, promotional materials, or event displays) and stand/walk during site inspections or operational shifts as needed.

· Core Competencies: Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.

· Professional Disposition: Highly adaptable and resourceful, demonstrating a collaborative work ethic and a steadfast commitment to supporting both aggressive sales objectives and cross-functional property operations.

· 401(k) retirement plan with company match

· Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
