🌟 What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Sales Manager - Account Executive who’ll drive net- new creator acquisition while leading, developing, and supporting a high-performing sales team. We are looking for a hands-on sales leader who blends individual selling with people management, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to build pipelines, close deals, and bring out the best in those around them.  As a Sales Manager- Account Executive, you’ll work closely with a team of Account Executives, as well as creators, talent agencies, and industry partners to execute our go-to-market strategy and scale the business. 

🚀 Your Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Go-to-Market Execution

  • Develop and execute the sales go-to-market strategy aligned with Makeships growth objectives.
  • Identify priority creator segments, verticals, and partnership opportunities to drive new business growth.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified creator opportunities.
  • Continuously evaluate sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity to improve results.
  • Recommend improvements to sales processes, outreach strategies, and pipeline management practices.
  • Partner with the Sales Manager - Partnerships, Marketing, and the Rev-Ops teams to improve lead generation and conversion.

Revenue Growth & Business Development

  • Maintain an individual sales quota and consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Prospect, negotiate, and close new creator/brand partnerships.
  • Build relationships with creators, talent agencies, creator management firms, MCNs, and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic partnerships that increase creator acquisition and long-term revenue growth.
  • Manage key opportunities from initial outreach through signed agreement and campaign launch.
  • Identify upsell, cross-sell, and repeat business opportunities where applicable.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and creator-focused networking opportunities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Executives.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Support career development, succession planning, and professional growth for team members.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability measures.
  • Provide ongoing sales training on prospecting, negotiation, relationship management, and closing techniques.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and ramping new Account Executives.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented team culture.

Performance Management & Forecasting

  • Set and manage individual and team quotas aligned with Makeships revenue objectives.
  • Monitor pipeline health, conversion rates, sales activity, and forecast accuracy.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews and opportunity assessments with team members.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and timely reporting of sales performance.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement action plans to improve results.
  • Maintain visibility into team capacity, productivity, and attainment against targets.

Compensation & Sales Operations

  • Partner with Finance, Revenue Operations, and Leadership to administer sales compensation plans.
  • Validate quota attainment, commission calculations, bonus payouts, and incentive programs.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of sales performance metrics.
  • Provide recommendations on compensation structures that support business goals and employee motivation.
  • Support new-vertical planning, account assignments, and quota allocation processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, sales processes, and reporting requirements.

Agency & Partner Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with talent agencies, creator agencies, management companies, and key industry partners.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for strategic creator and agency relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships and increase creator acquisition.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of creator industry trends, emerging talent, and market opportunities.
  • Represent the company's interests professionally and strengthen brand reputation within the creator ecosystem.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing to improve lead quality and acquisition strategies.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure a smooth creator onboarding and campaign launch experience.
  • Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, commission administration, and revenue reporting.
  • Coordinate with Product and Leadership teams on strategic growth initiatives and market opportunities.
  • Provide market feedback and customer insights to support business decision-making.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

🧠 What You Bring

  • 8-10 years of sales experience in creator economy, influencer marketing, digital media, partnerships, SaaS, e-commerce, or related industries.
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading quota-carrying sales teams.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience building relationships with creators, talent agencies, creator management firms, or entertainment partners.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Experience managing forecasts, sales pipelines, quotas, and compensation plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

    Salary Band: $120-125k CAD per annum plus variable commission. Individual salaries will be dependent on unique skills, experience and qualifications.
