Summary:
Surfline is seeking a B2B Sales Intern to help scale our go-to-market function for Surfzone.AI. You'll work closely with Surfzone AI's leadership to help Surfzone AI grow it's enterprise customer base and deepen relationships with existing clients. You’ll get hands-on exposure to the full sales cycle - from pipeline development to customer retention strategy - and contribute directly to the company’s strategy via market analysis. You get hands-on experience doing the sales activities that are required for success in modern day technology sales.
Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a remote basis from California or a variety of locations in the US.

What You'll Do:- Conduct competitive research to develop a clear, client-facing positioning framework for Surfline in the broader market.
- Identify new market segments where Surfzone AI can grow, and develop strategies to break into them.
- Support new prospect meetings with custom research and insights tailored to each opportunity - like location-based camera data, stakeholder-specific slide decks, and recommended discovery questions.
- Create and launch multi-touch prospecting campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn) to generate new sales meetings.
- Partner with Account Executives to engage new decision-makers and surface expansion opportunities.
- Assist in creating compelling Executive Business Reviews (EBRs), using benchmarks, ROI data, and client recommendations to support renewals and upsells.
- Conduct account mapping and stakeholder analysis to support upsell strategies.
- How enterprise sales works from first outreach to renewal and upsell.
- The art and science of client prospecting - including how to run campaigns that actually get responses.
- How to use data, storytelling, and research to support sales conversations.
- Cross-functional collaboration with account executives, strategy, and product teams.

- You’ll learn about how governments, agencies and private entities are taking measures to make beaches safer and more resilient.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Marketing, or a related field, with a strong interest in pursuing a career in technology sales.
- You're excited to learn about sales and are curious about how businesses buy technology.
- You’re comfortable talking to new people, writing clear messages, and thinking creatively about outreach.
- You’re proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Prior experience with sales, marketing, or market research is a plus - but not required.
- Able to be effective in small work groups. Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined marketing team.
- Passion for ocean-going activities.
- Familiarity with Hubspot, Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
