Description

AgencyBloc is a leading provider of agency management solutions built specifically for life and health insurance agencies. Our platform helps agencies streamline operations, strengthen client relationships, and drive growth through powerful CRM, commission processing, and marketing automation tools. We value innovation, collaboration, and making a meaningful impact in the industries we serve and we take pride in fostering a culture that genuinely cares about our customers, our work, and each other.

Requirements

Summary:

AgencyBloc is the #1 agency-recommended management platform for the life and health insurance industry. Our cloud-based Plus Suite — AMS+, Commissions+, Engage+, and Quote+ — helps independent agencies, insurance uplines (GAs, IMOs, FMOs), and health insurance carriers manage client data, automate commissions, streamline communication, and simplify quoting, all in one place. More than 6,500 agencies trust AgencyBloc to reduce their administrative burden and run their business with confidence.

We're a team of hard-working, fun-loving people who believe in making the convoluted, straightforward. We're looking for a Sales Engineer who wants to help insurance agencies see exactly how the right technology can transform the way they work.

As a Sales Engineer at AgencyBloc, you'll be the technical backbone of our sales process, partnering closely with Account Executives and Account Managers to show prospective customers how our platform solves their real, day-to-day problems. You'll lead product demonstrations, answer technical and functional questions, and translate what prospects need into a clear picture of how AgencyBloc delivers it. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their sales engineering career who wants to grow alongside a fast-moving SaaS company in a niche, purpose-driven industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Account Executives and Account Managers throughout the sales cycle to understand prospect needs and deliver tailored, compelling product demonstrations of the AgencyBloc Plus Suite (AMS+, Commissions+, Engage+, Quote+)
  • Support sales conversations to uncover a prospect's current workflows, pain points, and technical requirements
  • Serve as the primary technical resource during the sales process, answering questions about functionality, integrations, data security, and implementation
  • Build and customize demo environments that reflect a prospect or client's specific use case
  • Support proof-of-concept engagements and trial periods, helping prospects experience the platform's value firsthand
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including agency owners and administrative staff
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Product, and Engineering, relaying prospect and customer feedback to help shape the product roadmap
  • Stay current on AgencyBloc's product suite, the insurance agency management landscape, and competitive alternatives
  • Maintain and improve internal demo scripts, sales engineering playbooks, and technical sales collateral

Skills/Education/Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales engineering, solutions consulting, sales, customer success, or a related customer-facing/technical role
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
  • Genuine curiosity about how software solves business problems, and comfort learning a new platform in depth
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying closely connected to a distributed team
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SaaS products, CRMs, or agency/policy management systems
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry (life, health, or benefits) or a willingness to become an expert in it
  • Experience responding to RFPs or security/compliance questionnaires
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar sales platforms

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus/commission structure.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment
  • Generous PTO and flexible scheduling
  • Half-day summer Fridays
  • A collaborative, mission-driven culture that genuinely values work-life balance

Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
