About Abacum

Abacum is the leading Business Planning solution for finance teams to drive performance. By automating reporting, enabling collaboration, and simplifying planning and forecasting, we help finance teams shift from number crunching to driving strategic decisions.

Founded in 2020 by two former CFOs, we’ve grown into a global team of 100+ people across 30+ nationalities. Headquartered in New York, we have offices in Toronto and Barcelona. We’re trusted by industry leaders such as Dish Networks, Strava, BetterUp, Kajabi, JG Wentworth, Abridge, Cortex, and hundreds more.

We have raised over $100m, closing in June 2025 our $60M Series B, led by Scale Venture Partners, with the strong participation of Cathay Innovation, Y Combinator, Atomico, Creandum, and angel operators from Adyen, Zapier, and Twitch.

Our mission is ambitious and we can’t do it alone - join Abacum as we build the future of Business Planning!

About the role

You will lead Abacum's US account executive team, taking direct ownership of a group of enterprise sellers as it grows. That means setting the standard for how deals are run, coaching reps through complex finance-led sales cycles, and owning the number your team carries. You will be close to the deals yourself, stepping into negotiations and executive conversations where your experience moves things forward.

The opportunity is to shape how Abacum sells to finance leaders in the US market. You will build the team, define the habits and methodology it runs on, and bring a point of view on the enterprise performance management market that sharpens how we compete.

What you will do
  • Lead, develop and grow a team of enterprise account executives selling planning software to finance teams.

  • Own your team's revenue target and the execution plan behind it, quarter by quarter.

  • Drive pipeline generation across the team, setting expectations for the prospecting your reps do themselves and working with marketing on demand in your segment.

  • Run an accurate, disciplined forecast that leadership can plan against.

  • Coach account executives on opportunity qualification, multi-threaded enterprise deals and deal strategy through individual and team sessions.

  • Step personally into complex negotiations and strategic deals where your involvement helps close.

  • Engage directly with CFOs, finance executives and other senior decision-makers as an executive sponsor on key accounts.

  • Build the hiring plan for your team and design the recruiting, onboarding and ramp that gets new sellers productive.

  • Work closely with marketing, product and customer success to bring what you learn in the field back into the business.

What you bring
  • Enterprise performance management expertise: You have at least five years in the EPM industry and can speak fluently about the FP&A market, the competitive landscape, how finance buyers make decisions, and what enterprise planning solutions actually do.

  • Frontline sales leadership: You have five or more years leading B2B SaaS or enterprise software sellers directly, with a consistent record of hitting or beating team quota.

  • Team builder: You have built and developed high-performing sales teams in high-growth environments and can point to individuals whose performance you measurably improved.

  • Complex deal operator: You have managed multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles and significant commercial transactions including seven-figure deals, and you have personally led the negotiations.

  • Operational rigour: You have a strong command of pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity qualification and sales execution methodology, with deep proficiency in Salesforce and modern sales productivity tools.

  • Executive presence: You engage credibly with CFOs and senior finance leaders, and you communicate clearly in writing, in the room and in front of a board-level audience.

  • Comfort with pace: You operate well where processes, priorities and org structures are still evolving, and you are willing to travel as the role requires.

Bonus points

  • Experience selling into mid-market and enterprise finance teams in both directions, so you know where the motion differs.

  • Time spent at a company scaling its US presence from an existing international base.

  • A bachelor's degree, though equivalent professional experience carries the same weight here.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation including equity package

  • Competitive vacation policy

  • Medical Insurance

  • L&D budget

  • Access to Meditopia (wellbeing platform)

  • Language courses (English / Spanish)

Our Values

Customer Obsession: We share the understanding that Abacum's sole purpose is to create value for customers and relentlessly deploy all creativity and energy to that end.

Audacious Ambition: We dream big and embrace discomfort. We assume risks, make on-time mistakes and learn how to methodically accomplish our goals.

Good People: We are self-reflective and praise diversity of thought. We don't justify the end with the means and know where to draw the line. We have fun every day.

Tough Love: We truly care for everyone in the team and embrace honest feedback and radical candor as ways to genuinely help each other.

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, protected veteran status, or disability status.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
