Job Description

Lakeshore Learning helps educators and families find tools that make learning meaningful, and great decisions at Lakeshore start with great data.

As a Sales Data Analyst on our Sales Operations team, you'll turn raw data into clear, reliable reporting that our sales and cross-functional teams use every day to make smarter decisions. This is a role for someone who finds real satisfaction in getting the numbers right and telling a clean, honest story with data.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Build, maintain, and distribute sales reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses that track pipeline activity, customer trends, and sales performance.
  • Extract and transform data from Salesforce, Data lake and warehouse systems, and business intelligence platforms to support accurate, consistent reporting across the organization.
  • Run routine data audits and validation checks to catch gaps, flag inconsistencies, and keep reporting outputs trustworthy.
  • Partner with Retail, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Bid, IT, and other teams to understand reporting needs, troubleshoot data issues, and deliver timely insights.
  • Document reporting processes, support tool maintenance, and continuously look for ways to improve how we build and share data.

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in sales analysis, business analysis, data analysis, or a closely related field
  • High proficiency in Excel, including Power Query, and experience working with a CRM such as Salesforce
  • Hands-on experience with a business intelligence tool such as Power BI or a comparable platform
  • Demonstrated ability to audit, validate, and maintain data accuracy across reporting workflows
  • This is a fully remote role; reliable home office setup and self-directed work habits required

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting sales operations or working alongside sales and marketing teams
  • Familiarity with data lake environments or enterprise data extraction processes
  • Exposure to documenting reporting processes or supporting tool migrations

What sets you apart:

  • You catch the error before anyone else does — and you fix it without being asked
  • You can translate a messy data request into a clean, useful output without needing every detail spelled out
  • You communicate what the data actually says, not just what stakeholders hoped to hear
  • You manage competing priorities without losing accuracy or dropping the ball on routine deliverables

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
