Job Duties and Responsibilities
Here at Echostar Information Security we're investing in our Governance Risk and Compliance capabilities to support exciting plans across our telecommunications and technology businesses. Our Risk Manager position is instrumental in supporting our risk framework, helping others understand and create plans to manage cybersecurity risks across the organization. You don't have to be a cybersecurity specialist (although it helps) - risk, audit and project management backgrounds are all great for this role. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting business stakeholders to identify, assess and treat risks, having the ability to convey complex information articulately and simply
  • Identifying emerging risks and assessing how these could impact the organization, supporting stakeholders in the business to consider implications and prepare responses accordingly
  • Understanding the strategic objectives of the organization and adapting risk strategies in support of business priorities
  • Engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization with an ability to think and respond quickly with a pragmatic, solutions-minded approach
  • Preparing and presenting risk reports and proposals, and supporting the business in creating plans to mitigate potential threats
  • Defining plans to test controls, along with supporting control testing and other assessments, preparing reports and providing recommendations to stakeholders, obtaining support and buy-in
  • Evaluating employees' risk awareness and providing training as needed to educate and support stakeholders
  • Reviewing and developing risk management policies and procedures to ensure that these are maintained according to industry best practice and regulatory compliance requirements

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and over 6 years of experience in risk management programs and best practices

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven project management expertise, delivering results on time and within scope
  • Skilled in managing organizational change and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in computer applications and in-depth research techniques
  • Advanced mathematical and critical-thinking capabilities
  • Effective communicator with excellent presentation and storytelling skills
  • Recognized Risk, Audit or project management qualifications preferred

Other Qualifications:
  • Professional certification (CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, or similar) is highly desired

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $145,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
