The Risk Management Assistant supports the Risk Manager by handling inquiries, preparing reports, maintaining files, processing insurance claims, and fulfilling administrative tasks, while also providing front desk relief and attending company events.
The Risk Management Assistant reports and provides support to the Risk Manager. The essential functions of the Risk Management Assistant position include the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Address inquiries (telephone, mail, email, etc) when able or direct requests to the appropriate individuals.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other materials for meetings and presentations.
- Provide support to staff related to scheduling, dissemination of information, and document preparation as necessary.
- Maintenance of files, both hard copies and electronic filing system.
- Data entry as needed.
- Support the Risk Manager with administrative tasks, renewals, processing certificates and endorsement requests.
- Process insurance claims, bond requests and documentation for lawsuits.
- Front desk receptionist relief as necessary.
- Attend Company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee’s home.
- Multi-task; maintain appropriate work pace per work load.
- Be a team player.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Five to six years of experience in an office setting.
- Four-year degree in the appropriate field desired.
- Excellence in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with accounting software.
- Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and initiative in work assignments.
- Must have strong communication skills, both in person and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Operate Computer and Office Equipment
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature
