Internship Summary: We are actively hiring for a Rising 2L Legal Summer Intern! CSAA Insurance Group offers an exceptional summer internship for law students transitioning from their first to second year. This 10-week program is designed to immerse interns in both corporate and litigation practices, providing a robust introduction to the legal intricacies of the insurance industry. CSAA Insurance Group is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and dynamic work environment that promotes personal and professional growth. Our internship program is structured to ensure comprehensive exposure to the practical aspects of legal operations within the insurance industry. We offer professional development sessions, networking opportunities with seasoned legal professionals, and a supportive team that values the contribution of each intern.

Internship Details: This role is hybrid if you are located within 60 miles of one of our offices or fully remote if you are located more than 60 miles from one of our offices., We have offices in Walnut Creek, Sacramento, San Jose, Fresno, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Philadelphia.  Our interns gather once a week to work with our staff counsel. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $27.00.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on issues pertinent to the insurance sector.
  • Assist in the drafting and revision of legal documents, contributing to the team's efforts to support CSAA's legal framework.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that could impact the company, preparing summaries and updates for the legal team.
  • Participate in weekly staff counsel meetings to discuss ongoing cases and new legal developments.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Must be a current 1L student gearing up to enter the 2L year.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Possesses excellent legal drafting abilities and a keen interest in litigation, corporate law, and/or insurance law.
  • Available to work full-time throughout the duration of the summer program.
