About Matia

Matia is at the forefront of the DataOps revolution, building a unified platform that streamlines data infrastructure from end-to-end. We empower data teams with seamless ingestion, reverse ETL, observability, and data catalog, enabling faster, smarter decisions with significantly less tool sprawl. Backed by leading investors and trusted by data teams at companies like Ramp, Honeybook, Drata, and Lemonade, we're building the future of data.

The Role

Matia is looking for a Revenue Operations and GTM Engineering leader to own how our go-to-market engine runs and scales. This role sits at the intersection of sales, marketing, and operations, and you will own it end-to-end. You will build the systems, data, and automation that turn a fast-moving startup into a repeatable revenue machine.

This is a builder's role. You will be the first dedicated RevOps hire, which means you get to design the foundation rather than inherit someone else's. If you are equal parts operator and engineer, comfortable in spreadsheets and APIs alike, and energized by ambiguity, this is for you.

What You'll DoRevenue Operations
  • Own the GTM tech stack end-to-end, including CRM, marketing automation, enrichment, and reporting tools

  • Build and maintain pipeline reporting, forecasting, and the metrics leadership uses to make decisions

  • Design and run lead routing, lead scoring, and attribution so the right work gets credited and the right leads reach the right people; assist growth

  • Establish clean data hygiene, definitions, and process across the funnel so everyone trusts the numbers

  • Own territory planning end-to-end, including segment design, account assignment, coverage models, and quota and capacity planning

GTM Engineering
  • Build automations and integrations that connect the GTM stack and remove manual work, using APIs, webhooks, and modern tooling including AI agents

  • Build, deploy, and manage AI systems and agents across the GTM motion, and own them in production: monitoring, evaluating, and improving them over time

  • Develop and operationalize workflows for outbound, enrichment, and personalization at scale

  • Treat the go-to-market motion as a system to be engineered, instrumented, and continuously improved

  • Prototype and ship internal tools that give sales and marketing leverage they don't have today

GTM Enablement
  • Partner with sales to surface the right accounts, signals, and insights at the right time

  • Support marketing operations including campaign tracking, segmentation, and program measurement

  • Build the operational backbone for new GTM programs as we launch them

  • Surface insights from across the funnel to inform strategy and where we invest next

What We're Looking For
  • 3 or more years in revenue operations, sales operations, marketing operations, or GTM engineering at a B2B SaaS company

  • Hands-on fluency with a modern GTM stack (CRM, marketing automation, enrichment, and reporting tools)

  • Comfort with APIs, webhooks, and automation tooling; you don't need to be a software engineer, but you should be able to wire systems together and build workflows without waiting on one

  • Strong analytical skills and a bias toward action, even when things aren’t perfect

  • Excellent communication and the ability to partner across sales, marketing, finance and leadership

  • Obsessed with AI is a must. You instinctively ask how to automate things, leverage MCPs, reach for AI before manual work, and build systems that compound.

  • With AI usage comes discernment. You know what good looks like. You have taste and a high bar, and you ship quality and iterate

  • Startup experience and comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment; you will own this function end-to-end and need to feel comfortable building from zero

Nice to Haves
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack or data tooling ecosystem (better yet, you’ve used ETL tools in your role)

  • Experience building a RevOps or GTM engineering function from zero to one

  • Light scripting experience (Python, SQL, or similar) for data work and automation

  • Current text stack: HubSpot, Apollo, GA, Clay, Other intent providers

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
