About the Role

Hex is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to own key components of our Quote to Cash (Q2C) process, along with direct responsibility for revenue recognition/reporting, billing, and collections. This role will collaborate closely with Deal Desk in Revenue Operations while taking full ownership of the financial aspects of all customer transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bookings & Subscriptions – Own the design and creation of new subscription bookings in Stripe, ensuring accuracy and data integrity across systems. Act as a partner to Deal Desk on complex quotes and order forms, advising on downstream billing and revenue implications. Continuously improve booking workflows to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls.
  • Billing & Invoicing – Lead the design and execution of efficient, automated billing processes. Oversee invoice generation and accuracy for all customers, troubleshoot errors, and serve as the escalation point for non-standard invoicing requests (marketplaces, special payment terms, etc.). Work closely with Rev Ops to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Accounts Receivable & Cash – Manage AR & collections end-to-end, ensuring timely responses to customer inquiries and proactive resolution of disputes. Own AR reporting, including DSO, aging schedules, and unapplied cash. Partner with Rev Ops and Sales to flag collection risks tied to renewals and expansions. Ensure AR balances reconcile to the Financial Statements.
  • Revenue Recognition – Own monthly revenue recognition entries across the financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP & ASC 606. Draft technical memos for complex contracts and maintain audit-ready support (deferred revenue rollforwards, reconciliations). Partner with Strategic Finance to provide insights into revenue and cash variances.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of Accounting experience with at least 2 years at a SaaS company
  • Experience with SaaS business models and subscription billing
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
  • Proficiency with Stripe, Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ, and spreadsheets (Excel/G-Sheets)
  • Proficiency with ERP tools such as Netsuite, Quickbooks, and/or Rillet
  • Experience with invoice platforms such as Coupa, Bill.com, AWS Marketplace is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

This role will be hybrid (2 days per week in office) based out of our San Francisco office.

The salary range for this role is: $143,000 - $195,000

The salary range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience.
