About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Retention Marketing Manager who will fully own our Email and SMS programs inside Klaviyo. This role is responsible for strategy, design, build-out, QA, deployment, reporting, and optimization— including daily email campaigns, SMS sends, lifecycle flows, and support for offer planning.
You must have advanced hands-on experience with Klaviyo Email and Klaviyo SMS. Graphic design ability and familiarity with Figma are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Email & SMS Strategy (Klaviyo)
- Develop and execute the overarching retention strategy using Klaviyo Email & Klaviyo SMS.
- Own the content calendar across campaigns, flows, and seasonal/promo initiatives.
- Collaborate on promotional and offer strategies to maximize LTV and performance.
Campaign & Flow Execution
- Build, design, QA, and launch daily email campaigns and SMS campaigns within Klaviyo.
- Create and maintain lifecycle flows (welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, winback, replenishment, loyalty, etc.).
- Use advanced segmentation and predictive metrics to target customers effectively.
Creative, Design & Figma Work
- Design high-performing email layouts using Klaviyo templates or custom blocks.
- Create or refine visual assets as needed for Email/SMS campaigns.
- Utilize Figma for light design work, template updates, layout refinement, and collaboration with creative teams.
- Maintain a consistent visual identity across all retention touchpoints.
Reporting & Optimization
- Analyze channel performance through Klaviyo dashboards and internal reporting.
- Run structured A/B tests (creative, subject lines, offers, segmentation, send-time).
- Monitor deliverability, list hygiene, SMS compliance, and subscriber growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with marketing, product, CX, and operations to support new product launches, promotions, and inventory-aligned messaging.
- Provide insights and data-backed recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure cohesive brand presentation across all retention channels.
Qualifications (Required)
- Advanced, hands-on experience with Klaviyo Email AND Klaviyo SMS (non-negotiable requirement).
- Strong experience building and designing campaigns and flows end-to-end in Klaviyo.
- 3–5+ years in retention, lifecycle, CRM, or email/SMS marketing (e-commerce/DTC preferred).
- Excellent copywriting skills and a strong eye for layout, design, and brand consistency.
- Highly analytical with experience using segmentation, predictive tools, and A/B testing.
- Strong project management and the ability to manage daily deployment cycles.
Highly Preferred
- Graphic design ability (comfortable creating or adjusting assets within Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva).
- Familiarity with Figma for layout editing, template updates, and collaborative design.
