Design and run experiments across NGS, molecular, cytogenetics, and biochemical genetics platforms; validate and transfer tests to clinical workflows; develop SOPs; support product development, training, and regulatory validation; perform routine lab and clinical testing as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and perform specific experiments in support of R&D projects in NGS, Molecular, Cytogenetics or Biochemical Genetics platforms.
- Work with clinical team to validate and transfer tests to clinical diagnostic workflows.
- Work with Product Development Team to plan and execute R&D strategies.
- Assist with laboratory training and education of external team.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform clinical tests as needed after proper training.
- Prepare validation materials for review in adherence to regulatory agencies and requirements.
- Conduct routine lab duties as assigned by supervisor, manager, or lab director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with 5+ years of industry experience or equivalent.
- Extensive expertise in NGS and molecular biology techniques.
COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated success in technical documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during test design, optimization and validation.
- Programming skills, Bioinformatics, SQL and database knowledge is a plus.
