Unlike traditional consulting roles, this position places emphasis on client interaction and the strategic shaping of business processes. You'll serve as a pivotal link between our clients and technical teams, focusing on translating business needs into functional requirements and ensuring seamless system implementations. This exciting role requires travel to client sites throughout North America for key project deliverables and phase kick-offs, ensuring you are at the heart of impactful engagements and implementations. While remote work provides flexibility, we also value in-person innovation and collaboration, encouraging team gatherings at our Toronto area headquarters on a quarterly/bi-annual/annual basis.

The salary range for this position is 80-90,000 CAD.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for system functionality, offering expert guidance and articulating best practice business processes. Develop comprehensive functional requirements documentation to support client interactions.
  • Requirement Documentation: Exhibit keen attention to detail in capturing and reviewing client information to prepare accurate and thorough requirements documents that reflect current ('as-is') processes.
  • Future State Design: Collaborate with technical teams to conceptualize a future state, documenting requirements that align with client business processes and system configuration considerations within the functional requirements document.
  • Client Communication: Translate technical jargon into accessible language, enabling clients to clearly understand key system functionalities and the impacts of proposed changes and asks.
  • Technical Coordination: Oversee technical ticket management, ensuring they are appropriately assigned to JIRA sprint workflows.
  • Functional Testing: Provide final approval on tickets resolved to satisfaction ensuring the fix/change meets the understood/documented client requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Testing Analysts, Trainers, and technical teams on configuration tasks to deliver cohesive project outcomes.
  • Project Management Support: Assist Project Managers in identifying key project phases, informing scheduling needs, and managing development timelines concerning defects.
  • Product Ownership: Act as a primary product advocate, championing modifications that align with client needs and industry best practices. Ensure that development teams resolve defects to established standards.
  • Change Management: Lead transformation initiatives with clients, clearly articulating 'as-is' and 'future state' configurations during the transition to Infinity CIS.
  • Process Improvement: Drive enhancements to implementation strategies, prioritizing best practices to serve our clients effectively and fostering an environment that values teamwork and dedication.

Experience & Education:

Required

  • Strong understanding of the utility industry and Customer Information Systems (CIS), with proven experience in fostering successful client engagements.
  • Proficient in analyzing and documenting business processes, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable system requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts in a way that is easily understood by clients.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and leading client-facing engagements across different project phases.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including technical, project management, development, and business analysis groups, to achieve project goals.
  • Experience in managing technical workflows and tools, such as JIRA, to oversee ticket resolution and project task assignments.
  • Proven skills in leading change management initiatives, with the ability to guide clients through transitions while maintaining alignment with industry standards.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites throughout North America for key project deliverables and phase kick-offs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges and innovate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in working effectively in both remote and in-person settings, with agility in transitioning between different work environments.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license, and the ability to travel internationally (most clients are within the USA).

Preferred, but not required

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the utility sector.
  • Experience leading workshops or training sessions with clients and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of integration processes and technologies that connect CIS solutions with other enterprise systems.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, particularly French, and/or Spanish.
  • Previous work experience in a consultancy role within the utility industry or similar sectors.
  • Familiarity with agile and/or waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience with enterprise-level software solutions and their configuration.
  • Experience with BI Reporting.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Systems, or related discipline.Relevant certifications in project management, change management, or industry specific credentials are a plus
