ABOUT US

Building the ranking intelligence layer for the internet.

Sequen provides an integrated platform that pairs bleeding-edge frontier ranking models with the infrastructure to run them in production at sub-25ms latency and enterprise scale. The world's largest retailers, marketplaces, and travel platforms use Sequen to rank, recommend, and personalize, with an autonomous research engine that compounds model performance into revenue and margin lift measured in hundreds of millions of dollars per customer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Build, lead, and scale a team of enterprise Account Executives selling into Fortune 500 retailers, marketplaces, and travel companies — owning hiring, ramp, coaching, and performance management. Own a regional revenue number: set and deliver against quota, forecast with rigor, and drive predictable pipeline generation and conversion across your team. Coach your AEs through complex, eight-figure sales cycles involving C-suite sponsors, technical evaluation teams, procurement, legal, and security — getting into deals directly when it moves the outcome. Serve as an executive sponsor in strategic pursuits, engaging CTOs, Chief Product Officers, and heads of search and personalization to build conviction and unblock deals. Instrument and run a disciplined sales operation: pipeline reviews, deal inspection, accurate forecasting, and methodology-driven qualification (MEDDPICC or similar) across the region. Partner with marketing, product, forward deployed engineering, and the founding team to align go-to-market motion and feed the field with what it needs to win. Help shape how Sequen lands and grows customers — our playbooks, our deal motion, our territory design, and our go-to-market are still being written, and you'll hold the pen for your region. Develop your team's command of each customer's business — their P&L, surfaces, and KPIs — and raise the bar on the business cases they build to win procurement and arm champions.

ABOUT YOU

6+ years managing high-performing enterprise sales teams, with a consistent track record of building and leading AE teams that exceed quota. A personal track record of closing seven-figure (and ideally eight-figure) enterprise deals before moving into leadership. Have sold technical products — infrastructure, ML/AI, data platforms, or similar — and can hold your own, and coach others, in conversations with technical executives and their teams. Have led teams selling and growing Fortune 500 accounts, navigating long cycles with multiple stakeholders, procurement, legal, and security workstreams. A force multiplier: you hire well, ramp reps fast, coach to methodology, and get more out of a team than the sum of its parts. Run a disciplined, data-driven sales operation with rigorous qualification, forecasting, and pipeline management. Bring genuine business acumen and can teach it — how a customer makes money, where the opportunity and pain live in their numbers, and how to build business cases that survive procurement and CFO scrutiny. A builder who wants to shape the playbook and org, not just run one — comfortable creating process, structure, and collateral where none exists. Take full ownership, navigate ambiguity effectively, and proactively overcome obstacles to deliver results. Thrive in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments and have ideally led sales at an early-stage or hypergrowth company. Bachelor's degree or comparable experience.

Strong Candidates May Also

Have sold and led teams into retail, e-commerce, marketplaces, media and entertainment, or travel verticals. Have experience with usage-based, value-based, or lift-share commercial models. Have built go-to-market motion alongside forward deployed engineering or professional services teams. Have scaled a sales team through a significant growth inflection (e.g., Series B onward). Bring an existing network of senior buyers at large consumer enterprises.

What We Offer

High-impact leadership role with direct influence on how a hypergrowth AI company builds its sales org and lands its most important customers. The opportunity to sell category-defining technology with proven, quantified customer results. Ownership of regional strategy — how you build your team, attack your territory, and grow your accounts. Direct partnership with the founding team. Very competitive base + uncapped commissions + meaningful equity.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
