This role is pivotal in leading our field-based franchise operations business consultants, Regional Area Directors (RADs), Area Directors (ADs), and Area Managers (AMs) across the midscale, upper-midscale, and economy hotel operations within the franchising business model. Your Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of hotel professionals, including Area Directors and Managers, to drive hotel performance and owner satisfaction.
  • Create a vision that inspires and motivates a geographically dispersed team, helping them to become trusted advisor to our franchisees.  
  • Lead and drive performance results for the midscale, upper-midscale and economy portfolio in the Mid-Central United States Region, from Minnesota down to Louisiana
  • Foster continuous improvement and strategic action planning to maximize hotel results.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience required; preference for candidates who have furthered their personal/professional learning journeys.
  • Extensive midscale and upper midscale above property hotel leadership experience.
  • Must possess a deep understanding of the franchising business model and a passion for supporting hotel owners through the franchise lifecycle.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of leading distributed, field-based support teams.
  • Possesses superior team-building skills, a collaborative management style, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Agile learner and resourceful role model with impeccable business acumen, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license with the ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Strong preference for candidates located in the Central Time Zone.

Your Team

This is a leadership role that will report to the Vice President, Franchise Performance. You will have 14 – 15 direct reports and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

This is a full-time remote position with work hours aligned to the Central Time Zone. As our Regional Vice President, Franchise Performance, you will be required to connect virtually with Choice team members and leadership on video via Zoom, with possible periodic travel in-person to our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide offices in North Bethesda, MD, Scottsdale, AZ, or St. Louis Park, MN. Frequent nationwide travel will be required 70% of the time to visit trade shows, conventions, franchisees, and other industry events.

About Choice Hotels Financial Performance

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for first quarter 2024 grew to $124.3 million, a first quarter record and a 17% increase compared to the same period of 2023. Please click here to review highlights of our first quarter 2024 results.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $195,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP), as well annual awards of Choice Hotels International common stock through Choice’s Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTI Plan).

Pay ranges listed are for this position and are what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
