What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):  

Education:  

  •  Master's degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required in the mental health field.    

Experience  

  •  Two (2) years of direct service experience with seriously mentally disordered patients.  

  •   One (1) year clinical supervisory experience in an outpatient, hospital, or residential setting preferred.  

  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical training experience and experience in overseeing a training program preferred.  

License or Certification  

  • Valid California Driver's License.  

  • Certification in Pro Act  

  

How you will make a difference (Job Overview):  

The Regional Director of Training is responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and delivery of training programs in the Southern Region. The Training Director oversees new employee orientation, required in-service training, and specialized clinical training within a mental health setting. This includes providing educational services to all staff in support of the clinical treatment of seriously emotionally disturbed clients.  

   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining accurate records of all staff training and attendance; regularly delivering training sessions to both groups and individuals; and creating opportunities to host trainings for other professionals or collaborate with external organizations. Additionally, the Training Director builds and maintains relationships with County staff, universities, and other organizations to assess training needs, secure qualified trainers, and develop joint training initiatives.

 Since 1988, we have provided services to support individuals and families to help them find their own skills and strengths even when they’re battling the results of trauma, mental illness, neglect, substance abuse, or other issues. Today, we serve more than 40,000 children, youth and families annually at about 60 different program sites in California. The most rewarding part of our work is seeing people overcome tremendous challenges, grow, and change.
