The Regional Sales Manager develops and maintains an assigned Energy Systems sales territory in southern California. The Regional Sales Manager has the responsibility to develop and execute a territory management plan that can encompass reactive (bid market) and/or proactive (negotiated business) relationships to grow and achieve territory sales objectives. This role acts as the primary customer contact and territory owner; building and managing relationships, executing on new growth strategies and capturing market share.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops new customer accounts and executes territory plans to grow sales and strengthen relationships.

  • Conducts market and competitive research to identify growth opportunities.

  • Serves as the primary sales resource, ensuring successful customer project outcomes.

  • Collaborates with customers to create programs and promotions that drive revenue.

  • Manages and communicates customer and sales data through CRM/ERP systems.

  • Partners closely with Sales Leadership, providing regular updates and insights.

  • Maintains strong knowledge of products, value propositions, and market positioning.

  • Collaborates with marketing and internal teams to launch new products, improve processes, and enhance customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 4 or more years of successful sales territory development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

  • 7+ years of successful solution and/or contractor sales experience; trade or power generation/installed equipment experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an active listening approach.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess competitive positioning and translate metrics into actionable objectives.

  • Entrepreneurial, adaptable self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and thriving in changing environments.

Compensation: Energy Systems is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Total Target Comp is $104,000-$156,000 uncapped. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, paid Holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
