Senior Regional Sales Manager, Advertising

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, vacation rentals, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and our leading advertising and travel media network.

Expedia Group Advertising is seeking a Senior Regional Sales Manager to lead, coach, and support a high-performing team while directly managing a limited number of strategic accounts. This role is responsible for account management activity and consolidated financial goals for a defined portion of a superregion’s account portfolio, with a primary focus on Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), airports, and related travel services partners.

This leader will set and drive both business and people strategy, strengthen customer relationships, and partner cross-functionally to deliver long-term commercial growth. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in digital media and travel, along with demonstrated experience leading and developing teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop a team focused on strategic account growth and customer success

  • Create an environment where team strengths are understood, developed, and shared to build capability

  • Set and drive team business strategy and people strategy aligned to broader organizational goals

  • Directly manage a limited number of strategic accounts while overseeing broader portfolio performance

  • Own consolidated financial goals for a defined portion of a superregion’s accounts

  • Build and grow relationships with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), airports, and related travel services partners

  • Develop long-term account strategies that align customer needs with Expedia Group Advertising solutions

  • Identify key buyers, decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders across customer organizations

  • Partner cross-functionally to align resources and deliver solutions that meet complex customer needs

  • Guide teams through objection handling, solution development, and customer retention efforts

  • Use market, competitive, and industry insights to identify opportunities and inform strategy

  • Attract, hire, and retain diverse, high-caliber talent while promoting collaboration and team effectiveness

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience

  • 3+ years of people management experience

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams

  • Background in digital media, advertising, and the travel industry

  • Experience managing strategic customer relationships and complex account portfolios

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to influence across teams and drive alignment around business priorities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), airports, or related travel services accounts

  • Deep understanding of travel, tourism, and destination marketing trends

  • Experience using customer, market, and competitor insights to shape commercial strategy

  • Proven ability to manage complex customer needs and develop long-term growth plans

Success Profile:

The ideal candidate is a strategic, customer-focused people leader who can balance team leadership with direct account ownership. They bring strong commercial judgment, travel and digital media expertise, and the ability to build lasting partnerships while creating a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

The total cash range (inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target) for this position in San Diego is $200,000.00 to $280,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $320,000.00, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Incentive plan performance above target will also earn more than the incentive target compensation amount.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
