The Regional Safety Manager serves as the primary safety business partner for the Western region of Signature Aviation locations, providing operational leadership to advance safety performance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise safety initiatives. This role partners closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Area Directors, General Managers, and Operations leaders to identify operational risks, improve safety performance, and strengthen a culture where safety is embedded in daily operations. The Regional Safety Manager leverages operational engagement, data analysis, and continuous improvement practices to drive consistent execution of safety programs, enhance regulatory compliance, and support the organization's long-term safety objectives.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary safety advisor for an assigned region, partnering with operational leaders to promote safe operations, regulatory compliance, and consistent execution of company safety standards.
Partner with Regional Vice Presidents, Area Directors, General Managers, and local leadership to integrate safety into operational planning and day-to-day business decisions.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational risks through field observations, trend analysis, risk assessments, and proactive engagement with operational teams.
Lead investigations involving aircraft damage, employee injuries, regulatory events, and other significant operational incidents, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
Analyze injury, aircraft damage, audit, observation, and operational performance data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support data-driven decision making.
Conduct operational assessments, field visits, audits, and safety observations to verify compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
Provide oversight and coaching for critical operational safety programs, including fueling, deicing, and other high-risk activities, ensuring consistent execution across assigned locations.
Leverage technology, artificial intelligence, and data analytics to improve safety performance, operational efficiency, and risk identification.
Support emergency preparedness planning, incident response, and business continuity activities within the assigned region.
Provide onsite safety leadership during significant operational events and support operational planning to ensure safety and regulatory requirements are met.
Analyze and interpret U.S. and international safety regulations, translating regulatory requirements into practical operational guidance for field leadership.
Recommend enhancements to safety policies, procedures, and operational practices that improve compliance, reduce risk, and strengthen safety performance.
Support the implementation of enterprise safety initiatives, strategic priorities, and continuous improvement programs across the assigned region.
Represent the Safety organization during operational meetings, industry events, training sessions, and other company forums as assigned.
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide safety leadership during critical operational events and emergency response activities as needed.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible safety or operational leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional knowledge and skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and, preferably, Canada's Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
Extensive knowledge of business aviation, general aviation, and Fixed Base Operator (FBO) operations.
Working knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations.
Demonstrated ability to influence operational leaders and build collaborative relationships across multiple levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate operational data, identify trends, and develop practical risk mitigation strategies.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, conduct thorough investigations, and drive timely resolution of complex operational issues.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively coach and influence field leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to leverage technology and data analytics to support operational decision-making.
