About Yondr

Yondr is a disruptor. We challenge convention and simplify complexity. A global developer, owner operator and service provider of data centers, we deliver complex data center capacity needs for the world’s largest tech companies. Our exponential growth sees us looking for extraordinary people to help accelerate us towards our vision: tomorrow delivered.

But we can’t do this without you.

About the Role

The Regional Operations Training Lead is responsible for delivering and continuously improving the Operations training program across the assigned region. The role provides onboarding and role-based training, develops and maintains training content, facilitates classroom, virtual, practical, and on-the-job learning, conducts operational drills, and performs oral qualification boards. The role also ensures training and qualification records are complete and that dashboards provide clear visibility of completion, qualification progress, overdue requirements, and regional training gaps. This is a hands-on regional position that works directly with site Operations, Technical Operations, Health, Safety and Environment, People teams, and subject matter experts. The AMER and EMEA role holders will work together to maintain a consistent global program while accounting for regional, jurisdictional, customer, and site-specific requirements.

Main Responsibilities

· Lead regional onboarding and operational induction training for new Operations personnel, including role-based learning paths and site-specific requirements.

· Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, practical, and on-the-job training using approved Yondr standards, procedures, qualification paths, and training materials.

· Partner with Technical Operations, site leaders, and subject matter experts to develop, review, improve, and standardize training content, lesson plans, job aids, assessments, and qualification materials.

· Support the development and rollout of role-based qualification paths, practical evaluations, knowledge checks, refresher training, and remediation training.

· Plan, facilitate, monitor, and document operational drills, including tabletop, walkthrough, simulated, awareness, and controlled functional exercises where appropriate and approved.

· Perform oral qualification boards and document results in line with approved qualification requirements, including follow-up or remediation actions where needed.

· Use drill results, incidents, audits, operating changes, and lessons learned to identify training needs and recommend updates to training content or qualification requirements.

· Coordinate with site leaders to maintain regional and site training plans covering onboarding, required training, continuing training, drills, and requalification activities.

· Ensure training and qualification records are accurately captured in approved systems and that supporting evidence is complete, current, and auditable.

· Maintain and improve training dashboards and reporting so Operations leadership can see completion status, qualification progress, overdue items, requalification needs, and other agreed training measures.

· Review regional training data with site and Operations leadership, identify gaps or recurring issues, and drive appropriate follow-up actions.

· Coordinate external or vendor training where specialist or statutory training is required and ensure completion evidence is captured in approved Yondr systems.

· Support mobilizations and new-site readiness by developing training plans, coordinating delivery, validating site-specific training content, and helping prepare teams for operational handover.

· Maintain training material libraries and support version control so teams use current, approved content.

· Promote continuous learning, operational discipline, safe execution, and practical knowledge sharing across sites.

· Partner with the counterpart Regional Operations Training Lead to maintain a consistent global program while accommodating regional requirements.

· Travel regularly within the assigned region, with occasional cross-region travel as business needs require.

· Other training duties as identified and agreed by leadership in support of data center operations.

Qualifications and experience

· Experience in data center operations, critical environments, technical operations, military or industrial operations, or another safety- and reliability-critical environment strongly preferred.

· Practical experience delivering or facilitating technical, operational, safety, qualification, or adult-learning programs.

· Experience developing training content, learning objectives, practical exercises, assessments, job aids, or qualification materials.

· Working knowledge of critical-environment operations, including electrical, mechanical, controls, maintenance, incident response, work control, and safe operating practices.

· Experience planning or facilitating drills, exercises, simulations, scenario-based training, or oral qualification boards is preferred.

· Comfort using learning management systems and Microsoft 365 tools; experience with Power BI or comparable reporting and dashboard tools is preferred.

· Ability to interpret operating standards, procedures, technical documentation, and site requirements and translate them into clear, practical training.

· Strong facilitation, presentation, evaluation, coaching, and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technicians, site leadership, subject matter experts, and senior leaders.

· Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple sites, training priorities, records, deliverables, and deadlines.

· Ability to work independently, identify gaps, and move work from concept through delivery and measurable follow-up.

· Bachelor’s degree or formal training or education qualification preferred; significant relevant operational and training experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

· Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the assigned region.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
