About 8Fleet

8Fleet is a rapidly growing technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both autonomous and non-autonomous rideshare fleets. As we expand into new markets, we're looking for a Regional Operations Associate to support the Regional Operations Manager keep multiple markets running smoothly and improving.

About the Role

The Regional Operations Associate supports the Regional Operations Manager in tracking, analyzing, and improving performance across every market in the region. This is a role for someone early in their career who wants real exposure to how a physical operation runs at scale. You'll be in the data, on the calls, and occasionally on-site, helping turn raw numbers into decisions.

You'll spend your time pulling and checking data, building out reports and trackers, prepping materials for market reviews, and following up to make sure action items from those reviews actually get done. When the Regional Operations Manager needs a deep dive on a specific market or metric, you're the one who runs it down. Over time, as you learn the business, you'll take on more ownership of specific workstreams, whether that's a market, a metric, or a process, rather than just supporting someone else's.

This role is a launching pad. You'll learn to read operational data fluently, understand what actually drives a market's performance, and work cross-functionally with people who don't report to you. Those are the skills that build a career in operations at 8Fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Regional Operations Manager in tracking regional KPIs: driver supply, fleet utilization, labor, safety, and financial performance.

  • Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reports that give regional and market leadership visibility into how things are going.

  • Pull and clean operational data, catch inconsistencies, and flag anomalies before they become someone else's problem.

  • Help prep materials for market performance reviews, and track follow-through on action items after.

  • Run first-pass analysis on underperforming markets or metrics to figure out what happened, when it started, and what changed.

  • Help document what's working in one market so it can be shared with others, and keep playbooks and SOPs up to date.

  • Coordinate logistics for market visits, audits, and cross-market initiatives.

  • Take on a specific market, metric, or project as an owner as you grow in the role.

Successful Candidates Will Bring
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations, analytics, consulting, or a similar fast-paced, data-driven role.

  • Comfort in spreadsheets and a genuine interest in what the numbers are telling you.

  • Strong attention to detail; you catch the thing that's off before it turns into a bigger issue.

  • Clear written and verbal communication; you can explain what you found to someone who wasn't in the weeds with you.

  • A bias toward action and a willingness to figure things out without a playbook already written.

  • Willingness to travel to markets periodically.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience with SQL or BI tools is a plus.

Compensation
  • Base Salary: $80,000–$90,000

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
