About Us

At Antares, our long-term mission is to make clean energy abundant from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. We’re fueled by the belief that advanced nuclear energy can strengthen our military, solve the climate crisis, elevate global living standards, and expand humanity's presence in outer space. To achieve our mission, we’re building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors that can be used terrestrially, underwater, and in space.

The Antares team hails from SpaceX, the White House, the Pentagon, the Department of Energy, MIT, Rigetti Computing, General Atomics, Relativity Space, Ursa Major, and National Laboratories like Idaho, Oak Ridge, Los Alamos, and Savannah River. Antares has raised over $600M in venture capital from top-tier investors and has hundreds of million-dollars on contract with the military services, NASA, and the Department of Energy.

About the Team

The People & Talent team at Antares is responsible for building the team that will help bring our mission to life. As Antares continues to grow, Recruiting plays a critical role in finding and hiring the highly specialized talent needed across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and our broader business.

In this role, you’ll report to the Head of Talent & People, supporting them and a team of three recruiters. You will have exposure to a wide range of roles, teams, and hiring challenges across the company. You’ll also partner regularly with hiring managers, interviewers, and the broader People team to keep hiring processes moving and create a thoughtful experience for every candidate.

We’re a collaborative, hands-on team operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly. You’ll have meaningful ownership from the start while learning directly from experienced recruiters, with opportunities to expand into sourcing and other parts of the recruiting process as you grow. For someone looking to build a career in recruiting, this role offers a front-row seat to how a growing company builds its team—and the opportunity to grow alongside it.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Candidate Coordination & Experience

  • Own interview scheduling and coordination in Ashby across multiple recruiters, hiring teams, and roles, managing complex calendars and availability from start to finish.

  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process, ensuring communication is timely, thoughtful, and clear.

  • Welcome and host candidates during onsite interviews, manage day-of logistics, and help create a professional and memorable candidate experience.

  • Own candidate travel logistics end-to-end, including coordinating flights, hotels, ground transportation, and other arrangements.

  • Process and track candidate travel and interview-related expenses accurately and efficiently.

  • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to anticipate scheduling challenges, troubleshoot issues, and keep hiring processes moving.

  • Ensure interviewers and candidates have the information, materials, and context they need for a successful interview.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the candidate and interviewer experience.

Recruiting Support & Sourcing

  • Partner with recruiters to support sourcing efforts across open roles, including identifying prospective candidates and building targeted talent pipelines.

  • Support candidate outreach and help maintain accurate sourcing and pipeline activity in Ashby.

  • Shadow and partner with recruiters throughout the hiring lifecycle to build experience beyond coordination and develop toward increased sourcing and recruiting responsibilities over time.

Recruiting Operations & Events

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate, interview, and requisition information in Ashby, with a strong focus on data quality and consistency.

  • Build and maintain recruiting reports, including funnel metrics, scheduling activity, pipeline health, and other data that helps the team understand what's working and where we can improve.

  • Support recruiting events, conferences, career fairs, and other talent initiatives from planning through day-of execution.

  • Help build, document, and continuously improve recruiting processes, SOPs, templates, and workflows that allow the team to scale effectively.

  • Maintain job postings and ensure recruiting information remains accurate across Ashby and other internal and external systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 1+ years of experience (inclusive of internship experience) in recruiting coordination, recruiting operations, People Operations, or a similarly fast-paced operational role.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex scheduling, travel logistics, and multiple competing priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong instinct for creating a thoughtful candidate experience.

  • Strong judgment and the ability to independently troubleshoot scheduling, process, and operational challenges.

  • A high degree of ownership and comfort working in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and not every process has already been defined.

  • A process-oriented mindset with a natural tendency to look for ways to make systems simpler, clearer, and more effective.

  • Genuine interest in developing a career in recruiting and learning candidate sourcing and other parts of the recruiting lifecycle.

  • Experience working in a startup, high-growth company, aerospace, defense, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, or another highly technical industry.

  • Previous experience with candidate sourcing, talent research, or candidate outreach.

  • Experience working within an applicant tracking system; experience with Ashby is strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter or similar platforms.

  • Experience improving recruiting processes, documenting workflows, or helping implement new recruiting tools.

  • Experience supporting university recruiting, internship programs, career fairs, conferences, or other recruiting events.

  • Experience building or maintaining recruiting reports and dashboards.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • On-site in our Torrance, CA, office five days per week.

  • This role may occasionally require additional or adjusted hours to support candidate interviews, recruiting events, or changing business needs.

Location:

  • We are located in Torrance, CA in a 322,000 square foot, brand new facility featuring large open spaces for team collaboration, R&D, and production, as well as easy access to the 405, 105, and 110 freeways. Our facility is in the heart of Los Angeles' vibrant emerging tech ecosystem alongside many other high growth startups and enterprises.

Culture

At Antares, we like to specifically tie each role to our founding document’s set of values–here are the top five cultural values we think you should believe at your core to be successful:

  • Think in Systems - Energy and Defense are complex ecosystems with numerous stakeholders with competing priorities, conflicting policies, perverse incentives, and emergent and path-dependent properties. First principles thinking alone is insufficient. Think probabilistically and then take action. “If you want to be certain, then you are apt to be obsolete.” Over-optimizing the components often degrades the system

  • Obsess over the End User - The customer and end user are often not the same. We will never build globally competitive commercial products if we lose sight of our end users and their entire interaction with the product life cycle

  • Be Unconstrained by Convention - Our only limits are the laws of physics. Many, even experts, will say what we are working on is impossible. They said the same about SpaceX reusing rockets. Generationally impactful companies, by definition, must accomplish the seemingly impossible. If it were easy, it would have already been done. Never shy away from a solution because it has never been tried before, and never choose to do something because that's “how it's always been done”

  • Go Where the Work Is - Never miss a chance to meet a customer, user, or stakeholder face to face, even if that means hopping on a plane. If you can’t make it, find a teammate who can channel your intentions and go in your place. Deep work can be done from anywhere, but we believe teams are built in person, and aim to maximize our time together

  • Operate in the Grey - Embrace nuance in pursuit of truth. Question every fundamental assumption

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
