About 8Fleet

8Fleet is hiring! We're a fast-growing, LA-based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both autonomous and non-autonomous rideshare fleets. We're building our Talent Acquisition team from the ground up, and we're looking for driven, passionate people to help shape it.

About the Role

As one of the founding members of our Talent Acquisition team, you'll be the first person at 8Fleet dedicated to candidate experience. As our hiring engine continues to scale, we want every candidate to get the experience top talent expects: thoughtful, responsive and well run from first interview to offer.

As our Recruiting & Candidate Experience Coordinator, you'll own how candidates move through our process. That means running scheduling, hosting candidates onsite, and making the experience better as we grow. You'll work closely with hiring managers every day to keep each search moving. You'll bring a systems mindset to how we hire, and help shape onboarding so the experience carries through from offer to day one.

If you're organized, fast, and care about the details that make hiring feel human, you'll excel here.

Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling and Coordination
  • End-to-End Scheduling: Own interview scheduling in Ashby and Google Calendar, coordinating candidates, hiring managers and panels across markets and time zones.

  • Rescheduling: Handle reschedules quickly and keep candidates and interviewers informed when plans change.

  • Interview Logistics: Get the details right on every interview, including interviewers, links, locations, prep materials and timing.

  • Candidate Paperwork: Send and track NDAs and pre-interview paperwork so candidates are ready before they arrive.

Onsites and Candidate Experience
  • Onsite Interviews: Run onsite interviews start to finish: prep the day, greet candidates, and lead tours of our offices and lots.

  • Candidate Experience: Find where the process feels slow or confusing, and fix it.

  • Surveys and Feedback: Run candidate experience surveys, track results, and turn feedback into changes.

  • Candidate Communication: Keep candidates updated at every stage so no one goes more than a week without hearing from us.

  • Onboarding Experience: Partner with the Broader HR team & Office Manager on onboarding initiatives so new hires have a great experience from offer to day one.

Systems and Tools
  • Ashby Hygiene: Keep candidate stages, interview records and scorecard reminders up to date.

  • AI Tools: Use tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Metaview to cut admin time, build smarter workflows and keep hiring teams prepared.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years as a recruiting coordinator in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (required).

  • Hands-on experience with Ashby (required).

  • Advanced Google Calendar skills, including multi-interviewer panels and managing several calendars at once (required).

  • Comfort using AI tools like Claude and AI recruiting tools like Metaview. We're an AI-forward team, so expect it to come up as part of our interview process.

  • Experience running onsite interviews and a strong eye for improving the candidate experience.

  • A systems mindset: you like building repeatable processes and making tools work better together.

  • Clear, warm communication with candidates and direct follow-through with hiring teams.

  • Discretion with confidential candidate information.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $70,000 to $75,000 plus equity.

Equal Opportunity Employer

8Fleet is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
