RxSight® is an ophthalmic medical technology corporation headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California that has commercialized the world’s first and only adjustable intraocular lens (IOL) that is customized after cataract surgery. The company’s mission is to revolutionize the premium cataract surgery experience by allowing surgeons to partner with their patients to achieve optimized results for every unique eye.

OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Principal Process Engineer, the R&D cleanroom Supervisor will assist with day-to-day supervision of assigned personnel and will focus on effective communication and dissemination of information to/from the R&D team and management, as well as overseeing daily R&D activities. he supervisor shall demonstrate fundamental understanding of all related manufacturing processes, and will be capable of meeting both time and quality standards.  

Will primarily act in a supervisory role while also demonstrating the capability to perform the work of those supervised on an as-needed basis. Supervisory roles include planning, scheduling, and organization of daily R&D activities. Responsible for providing guidance to technicians and providing resolution to any complications that may arise during managed activities. Strong time management and organizational skills to effectively maintain the cleanroom flow are critical for success in this role.

The schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This individual will interact with the other functions including but not limited to Engineering, Quality, Chemistry and Operations. 

  • Performs tasks such as hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, directing and appraising the work of assigned staff
  • Approves weekly timecards, as well as monitoring, scheduling, and approving PTO requests
  • Generates and issues weekly schedules – ensures plans are fully understood by staff.
  • Actively maintains plans, including clearly communicating scheduled time off or ad-hoc recovery plans for absent employees
  • Attends and contributes to planning and scheduling meetings as needed, ensuring all information is organized and accurate
  • Creates, coordinates, and executes training plans for new employees
  • Hold regularly scheduled one on ones with direct reports on at least a monthly basis, providing constructive feedback and motivation
  • Responsible for supporting effective and respectful communication between management, and corresponding technical groups and related departments.
  • Create and posts or reviews R&D Job orders and communicating special processing requirements.
  • Hosting daily start-up meetings to foster open communication.
  • Foster a culture of continues learning, professionalism, and teamwork within the R&D molding team 
  • Responsible for generating and/or maintaining accurate R&D cleanroom and molding records.
  • Generates and reviews data, ensuring accurate and timely release of R&D molding results, ensure all test and test documentation completeness
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs – ensures data is inputted into molding database.
  • Ensures Engineering, Chemistry and R&D receives data, results, and critical feedback in a timely and organized manner
  • Responsible for the daily administrative and managerial decisions to ensure strong organization and efficiency
  • Monitor and manage cleanroom inventory, equipment maintenance, and supplies procurement (including material transfers and purchase requisitions)
  • Oversee, schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities for cleanroom equipment
  • Maintain the cleanroom audit ready including leading cleanroom qualifications
  • Participate in inventory management, special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have baseline skills with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Strong leadership skills, including management, delegation, planning, forecasting and communication.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train, direct and appraise staff
  • Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments
  • Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system
  • The training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 30 days from the hiring date and on an annual basis

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Word & Excel
