LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA
SHIFT: Monday thru Thursday, 7am-5:30pm.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Manager and Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-started, motivated and demonstrate he/she can work under minimal supervision. The candidate must have prior experience in the field and have the ability to work with diverse personalities. Other qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, be detailed oriented and hands on. Must be willing to take on various duties within the QA Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assignments relating to product discrepancies and product quality.
- Work closely with engineers and manufacturing for problem resolution and provide quality recommendations.
- Inspect and evaluate customer returned product for defects and reporting.
- Compile quality reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, in process rejections and warranty returns.
- Evaluate and monitor the manufacturing, assembly and testing processes.
- Compile rework and non-conforming trend analysis.
- Review records for completeness including work orders, dimensional check sheets and test data sheets. Verify correctness of test and recorded results.
- Develop reports for management review.
- Maintain compliance to our Material Review Board process for Non-Conformances.
- Reviews non-conforming material reports for trending and corrective actions solutions, including supplier evaluations.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Electrical background required.
- Experience in the aerospace industry and RF experience is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing environment.
- Experience with First Article Inspection Reports in accordance to AS9102.
- Experience/Familiar with the requirements of AS9100.
- Experience with Windows software programs, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members of all levels.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures and manuals.
- Must be highly responsive to requests, with a high attention for detail and accuracy.
- Must be flexible and able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment.
- Must be well-organized, and able to work in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with customers and suppliers.
