About the Role
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Mediacurrent, you will work as an integral part of project teams alongside Producers and Lead Engineers to ensure all deliverables meet customer specifications and align with our quality standards. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with 2-4 years of experience in quality assurance, testing, and quality control who can efficiently manage multiple projects while ensuring digital experiences meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies, including critical path testing, visual regression testing, and end-to-end testing across multiple projects
- Create, maintain, and execute automated test suites using Playwright with TypeScript or similar testing technologies
- Perform thorough manual testing across desktop browsers and mobile platforms to ensure optimal user experiences
- Collaborate closely with Producers to understand project requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and acceptance criteria
- Effectively manage and prioritize testing activities across multiple concurrent projects, adapting to varying timelines and methodologies
- Utilize Browserstack and other testing platforms to ensure compatibility across multiple browsers, devices, and operating systems
- Create detailed bug reports in Jira, communicate issues effectively to development teams, and verify fixes through comprehensive retesting
- Work with development teams to test third-party integrations, including analytics, CRMs, performance monitoring tools, and business-specific integrations
- Provide clear, timely updates on testing progress and quality status to internal teams and clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-4 years of quality assurance, testing, or quality control experience, preferably in a digital agency environment
- Strong understanding of exploratory, verification/validation, and regression testing approaches
- Experience with automated testing frameworks; Playwright experience highly preferred
- Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they impact testing strategies
- Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and project management tools like Jira
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients
- Self-discipline and time management skills for remote/telecommute work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript and Page Object Model patterns
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (Lighthouse) and accessibility testing (Axe, WCAG guidelines)
- Experience testing content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, or similar platforms)
- Understanding of database testing in LAMP stack environments
- Basic knowledge of PHP and understanding of how code changes impact testing strategies
- Active contribution to QA community through blogs, professional organizations, or open source projects
- Experience with feature test cases in Gherkin format and test case management tools
- Ability to identify potential UX issues during testing processes

The target hourly compensation for this role is $75K-90K annually. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
