About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Coursera uses Persona to ensure the right person is earning each degree. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We believe that making the internet safer and more human requires a team that reflects the diverse, global nature of the people we aim to serve. We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us.

About the role

Persona is looking for a QA Analyst to join the Product team. If you have a knack for finding structured ways to test various scenarios and use cases, can translate product requirements into comprehensive test cases, enjoy finding ways to break systems (secretly or openly), and get excited about working cross-functionally to make an impact on both internal and external stakeholders, then this could be a great fit!

You will help our Engineering and Product team uphold high standards by setting a high bar today and raising it tomorrow through comprehensive testing and thorough reporting. You'll ensure the products we ship to our customers are of exceptional quality.

Day-to-day, you will conduct both smoke and comprehensive testing for our deployments while balancing focused testing for strategic customer workflows and important features or refactors. You'll regularly sync with Product teams and monitor new features to identify ways to evolve deployment testing - whether through external QA teams, automated tests, or manual testing. You'll summarize results for internal stakeholders, develop repeatable processes, and create best practices for Engineering and Product to enhance our collective workflow. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Post-Sales teams.

What will you do
  • Review PRDs, functional and design specifications

  • Develop and facilitate test plans, cases, scripts and reports

  • Perform testing across different devices, operating systems, and browsers

  • Help triage and resolve complex customer issues and deploy blockers

  • Understand and test core functionalities of the Persona Platform and key customer flows

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams on test automation and best practices

About you
  • A minimum of 3+ years of relevant QA technical experience

  • Experience in Web-based software testing, Mobile device testing on iOS and Android, and API testing

  • Ability to understand and create clear, concise test plans from specifications or verbal communications

  • Strong scheduling and project management skills with proven ability to prioritize across multiple teams

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams

  • Resourceful self-starter comfortable with ambiguous requirements and fast-paced startup environments

Nice to have
  • Experience QA testing for a B2B enterprise platform

  • Experience in test automation

  • Experience working with Datadog Synthetics and Charles Proxy

Benefits and perks

Persona offers a wide range of thoughtful and inclusive benefits for this role, including medical, dental, and vision, 3% 401(k) contribution, unlimited PTO, quarterly mental health days, family planning benefits, professional development stipends, and wellness benefits, among others. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
