Job Category

As a Publisher Business Development, you will own identifying, vetting, and signing new publisher/affiliate companies who can drive high intent homeowners to Modernize and our clients. You’ll need to exhibit strong communication and listening skills, be self-motivated, and build relationships internally and with potential publishers. A history of running discovery calls, utilizing digital intelligence software, negotiating, and contract literacy are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end business acquisition with affiliate and digital marketing companies
    • Prospects for new business opportunities through outbound calling, emails, text messages, and social networking
    • Set appointments with companies capable of generating homeowner leads or calls 
    • Execute an efficient sales process 
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage personal pipeline and effectively articulate progress towards key sales goals
  • Attend conferences to meet with and discover new prospects
  • Conduct sales meetings and deliver professional proposals and presentations to key decision makers that create high-value business partnerships delivering mutual benefit
  • Follow-up and assist business owners to ensure a smooth integration of Modernize live-lead transfer delivery services into their business operations
  • Utilize CRM system effectively, ensuring information is accurate
  • Close business to achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly targets and metrics

Requirements

  • 2+ Years experience in Publisher or Affiliate Marketing
  • Experience calling and prospecting, preferably in the performance marketing space
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and/or exceed established sales goals
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Must be organized and able to adapt to a changing work environment
  • Understanding digital performance marketing
  • Experience in a fast paced, startup environment
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Travel is required

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 USD to $90,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. The salary may be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The position is also eligible to receive performance bonus or commission and equity in the form of restricted stock units. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefits programs, which currently include health care benefits; (2) retirement benefits; (3) the amount of paid days off (paid sick leave, parental leave, paid time off, or vacation benefits); (4) any other tax-reportable benefits.
