Riot’s Games PR Team leads media relations strategy and execution for live games and in-development titles. In partnership with each game’s development and publishing teams as well as regional partners around the world, the team builds awareness for and understanding of Riot’s games with endemic and mainstream news media.

As a PR Strategist on the Games PR Team, you will be executing on global PR strategy and product PR campaigns for Riot Games' MOBA titles, which currently includes League of Legends and League of Legends: Wild Rift. You will execute on the day-to-day PR deliverables and materials, and maintain North American press relationships and communications. Internally, you will work in tandem with individuals responsible and accountable for both titles' global marketing and community. You will report to the Senior Manager, Games PR and work closely day-to-day with the Principal PR Strategist for MOBA.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute on global communications strategy and draft press materials for projects and events for League of Legends and League of Legends: Wild Rift 
  • Identify press opportunities and promote media coverage for League of Legends and League of Legends: Wild Rift in North America
  • Own, as-needed, direct North American media relations for key announcements including: distribution, pitching and story placement; media relations; interview preparation and staffing; and fact-checking and story follow-up
  • Cultivate relationships with key journalists, editors and industry analysts in North America to increase their understanding of the Riot’s MOBA portfolio and approach to development. 
  • Stay informed of the competition and global games marketplace
  • Partner with the MOBA Marketing and Community teams to ensure media plans are aligned with and support broader marketing campaigns

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 3+ years of communications and/or marketing experience in the games industry 
  • Experience executing communications for major, public-facing products
  • Proficiency in writing

Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of the gaming industry and journalism
  • Organizational management and time management skills
  • Proactive and willingness to learn
