We’re looking for a world class leader to join a fast-paced and transformational company to manage various trust & safety initiatives. This person will have full responsibility for developing features, platforms, models and capabilities to proactively identify sources and patterns of fraud and minimize DISQO’s total exposure to financial risk. This individual will also develop and execute a long-term roadmap that will establish DISQO’s systems and capabilities as the industry leader in fraud management and mitigation.
This role is highly cross-functional and will be utilizing information generated in collaboration with data scientists, analysts, engineering, product, support, and vendors to power your decisions. You will ensure that we deliver a customer-first approach and define and articulate the customer experience and impact for fraud detection and prevention activities. This individual will be the ‘go to’ leader for multiple cross-functional teams to deliver the latest fraud and risk solutions across multiple businesses.
What you will do:
- Own and drive our product and technology strategy for Fraud, User Safety and Trust
- Develop and execute processes and features to reduce fraud and improve user experience related to risk-prevention via close collaboration with senior leadership, Legal, Customer Support, Product, Operations, Data Science, Analytics, Design and Engineering.
- Translate customer and internal-user needs into clear, well-defined functional and technical requirements backed by data analysis and deep understanding of the fraud landscape
- Guide and interface closely with data analytics and engineering teams to define scope, review and refine technical capabilities, prioritize projects for release, and define new opportunities
- Oversee the design, development, documentation and management of real-time systems and models to combat systematic fraud, etc.
- Per problem, make decisions on the appropriate techniques for fraud detection and prevention
- Build long-term instrumentation, monitoring and evaluation capabilities for product performance, tracking, and to create product insights.
- Identify anomalies and manage escalations by working closely with internal and external teams
- Implement and manage process, tools & system improvements to create effective cross-team collaboration and fraud response management, especially customer-facing teams.
- Assess, negotiate, implement, and manage external identity and fraud vendor relationships
- Communicate and report overall status, primary metrics, key fraud issues and solution plans and readiness timelines to senior management and executives.
- Establish business cases and projected ROI on investment to identify and prioritize opportunities
- Partner with Finance and Business Leaders to manage the impact to profitability of the overall business.
- Create a seamless experience for users that are confronted with fraud-prevention measures.
What you bring to the table:
- 5+ years of experience as Fraud & Safety specialist or equivalent at fast growing consumer web & mobile apps companies with increasing responsibilities. Ideally with 2+ years of leading a team.
- Technical degree in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent or you have professional experience working as a software engineer, QA engineer, data analyst, etc.
- Demonstrated to be a strong Systems Thinker and can decompose complex problems into coherent smaller parts
- Proven experience in defining strategic vision and tactical execution to reduce fraud and build sustainable fraud products and systems.
- Focus and rigor on data and analytics to solve problems and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement, including experience with A/B testing.
- Advanced level expertise with SQL
- A good degree of familiarity with Machine Learning techniques as they apply to behavior tracking and fraud analysis
- Experience in effectively working with multiple teams for collaboration and company-wide project delivery
- Experience managing relationships and integrations with fraud and identity vendors
- Demonstrated to be a strong Systems Thinker and can decompose complex problems into coherent smaller parts
