Whip Media Group is seeking a Project Manager based out of our Los Angeles office to support the enterprise B2B product and help deliver the very best SaaS solutions to our long list of high profile, entertainment clients. This role will be INTEGRAL in collaborating with the lead architect, developers, product owners and company executives in order to determine product roadmap, system design and implementation plans across our Content Value Management platform and suite of Data products.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day activities of the software team, leveraging issue tracking software, to ensure each project remains on schedule and on budget.
  • Creates, maintains and tracks project plans and schedules, cost estimates and problem logs throughout the life of the project to ensure the completion of short- and long-term goals
  • Always knows the answer to “What’s the next most important thing to work on?”
  • Maintains the backlog of bugs and feature requests, in order of business value.
  • Polishes Bug Reports to ensure they are actionable by engineers.
  • Helps stakeholders write user stories and acceptance tests for feature requests.
  • Enforces workflow rules. i.e., They are the "ScrumMaster" or equivalent.
  • Serves as a gatekeeper for the team insulating them from distractions, ensuring meetings are properly attended and prevents stakeholders from circumventing workflow
  • Develops comprehensive project plans to be communicated and with stakeholders as part of routine status reports
  • Offers leadership, guidance and motivation to developers and programmers while resolving internal conflicts. Other common tasks include allocating company resources, conducting software team meetings, troubleshooting technical issues, and facilitating the deployment of software upgrades.

Necessary Skills or Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in project management
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software programs and applications is essential (i.e. Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with process improvement
  • You have to balance the completion of independent work assignments with the management of a diverse team.
  • You should possess superior communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as advanced time management skills. You also must use critical and analytical thinking to effectively solve problems.
  • You must be highly self-motivated in order to drive projects forward, have strong organizational skills, and be able to operate under tight deadlines.
