You Aspire To: 

Operate at the intersection of customer requirements, product development, and capital project engineering and construction. As Heliogen deploys facilities to supply customers with process heat, electricity, and/or clean fuels like hydrogen, you will act as a primary point of contact between the project execution and product development teams, ensuring that internally developed products meet customer requirements, cost targets, and delivery schedules. You’re the kind of Technical Program Manager (TPM) who gets excited about large, complex, multidisciplinary projects where every decision is an opportunity for optimization, and you’re not afraid to get into the technical details to uncover hidden challenges before they surface themselves.

• Planning – Work closely with project development, project execution, and product development teams to develop cost and performance commitments and delivery timelines that meet customer needs.
• Execution – Successful deployment of Heliogen’s Sunlight Refineries requires many components and systems to be engineered and delivered on time. The TPM will work with Heliogen’s engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure all milestones are being met.
• Issue resolution – As challenges arise, the TPM will work cross-functionally to identify resolution strategies to keep projects moving ahead as planned.
• Tracking and reporting – The TPM will develop and track metrics to measure performance against our commitments and will regularly report those metrics to Heliogen management.

What's Essential:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering or another technical field, or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical development environments, including at least 2 years in cross-functional project/program management roles.
• Broad and strong technical understanding, and ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies or industries.
• Excellent communication skills, bridging technical and nontechnical teams while ensuring understanding and alignment.
• Track record of driving projects to successful completion.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environment and to integrate new information as it becomes available.
• Familiarity with a variety of product development life cycles and track record of implementing them in an efficient and effective way.  
• Proficiency with MS Office, Project, SharePoint, etc.
• Willing and able to travel occasionally.
• Passion for renewable energy and solving the world’s climate challenge.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with large industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
• Experience in startup environment bringing new technologies and products to market.
• Knowledge of renewable energy, solar, and/or concentrating solar power.
