Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced IT Staff Technical Project Manager to serve as the central point of contact for IT project timelines and delivery. In this role, you will manage and drive execution of projects, collaborate with the organization to improve methodologies for assigned projects and support corporate strategic priorities within the IT department. You’ll identify risks, work cross-functionally to lead mitigation solutions before presenting them, while clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders, driving projects to on-time completion.

We’re looking for someone to join our IT PMO team immediately. We are looking for a technical problem solver with a passion and experience for innovation and drive execution to join our team.

The Business Systems, IT Engineering & Operations team is hiring a IT Staff Technical Project Manager, who can wear the project management hat, while clearly understanding the impact at the program level, in order to meet Procore’s Corporate OKRs & Corp IT related projects.

What We’re Looking For:

● Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, statistics, or equivalent professional experience

● Keen ability to hit the ground running with little to no supervision; while reporting directly to Sr. Manager, IT PMO on weekly status updates, issues/risks and mitigation plans before making recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

● Strong ability to lead complex, ambiguous technical conversations, while having the ability to keep teams engaged at personal level, leading them through the journey, communicating outcomes based on data-driven results in order to make informed decisions.

● Strong project management and leadership experience, with ability to influence at all levels

● Experience in leading technical projects in IT, across complex business systems and operations related projects - preferably in a SASS environment

● Experience executing technical projects across various Business Systems, IT Engineering and Operations, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure, Asset Management, by defining and aligning on clear business requirements.

● Ability to gather and analyze data in order to understand issues from a broad, strategic perspective.

● Organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast-paced environment

● Strong interpersonal skills. Collaboration, teamwork, and clear and concise, data driven communication are critical to success

● Ability to gather and analyze data to inform decisions, creating and disseminating high-quality reports to stakeholders

How You Will Lead

● As IT Staff Technical Project Manager, working closely with Procore’s IT leaders and cross-functional EPMO, various business teams, you will work closely to execute against our IT team’s strategy and operationalize it as a team.

● Drive project roadmaps including complex, multi-phase, multi-project roadmaps, involving multiple contributing teams

● Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your team

● Drive the project roadmap by partnering with multiple stakeholders and also help determine the best technical implementation methods

● Communicate progress across organizational boundaries and levels from individual contributor to senior executive

● Define, socialize and implement organization-wide processes. Bias to action/increasing velocity using agile methodologies

● Go beyond established analytical thinking and problem solving by applying creativity to unconventional concepts and out-of-the-box solutions

● Anticipate, recognize, and work through resistance or setbacks independently, work well with others when conflicts arise: see opportunities, ensure alignment with objectives, find common ground and promote understanding of alternative viewpoints before driving for closure and cooperation.

What we’re looking for:

● 4-year college degree in a technical field, statistics, or equivalent professional experience; ITIL certification is a plus

● 8-10+ years of project and process implementation, managing all sizes of projects in a balanced or strong matrix organization

● Understand and adheres to PMO best practices

● PMP, MPM, PgMP or equivalent certification required

● Experience managing complex IT related projects using multiple project methodologies (Agile, Lean Six Sigma, and hybrids)

● Ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions, creating and disseminating high-quality reports to stakeholders

● Possess high attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify risks and experience in finding well thought out mitigation plans to present to leadership for buy-in.

● Strong communication skills to keep stakeholders well-informed of projects

● Ability to foresee and plan ahead, proposing creative solutions to problems

● Demonstrates good judgment when making decisions; seeks advice when unsure

● Ability to collaborate, influence, and motivate others to further company objectives

● Work efficiently on assigned projects with minimal supervision and manages OKRs, goals through planning and prioritization
