Job Description Summary:

One of the top strategic priorities for PayPal is to make PayPal available to our consumers wherever they shop – either online or in store, and at the heart for this endeavor is PayPal’s Payments Products & Engineering team. The Payments team is responsible for the design, development and optimization of PayPal's core payment systems, payment methods and payments innovation, being that a critical part of the success is to work and manage strategic partners that share the same passion and excellence for delivering great customer focused products.

At this time, PayPal is seeking a senior payments professional with fanatical focus on the customer and with great expertise in merchant acquiring and e-comm payments in the US market (knowledge in the main global markets is a huge plus) to manage the commercial relationship of with partners such as acquirers, processors and payments service providers. This professional will work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the Payments teams and the whole organization to help define and execute the payments strategy leveraging external partners to further PayPal’s strategic business objectives. Some level of travel is required.

 

Job Description:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Define the partner strategy and goals in alignment with PayPal’s priorities in the US and Europe.
  • Manage the day-by-day relationship acquirers and processing partners being the point of contact for new business development, contract negotiations, providing product guidelines and responding for escalations when needed.
  • Seek constant optimization of our payment solutions, making recommendations to improve approval rates, availability of payments products globally and lowering costs.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects/initiatives to drive the sourcing and delivery of new products and partnerships that optimize our KPI's of transaction expense, revenue enablement and customer acquisition
  • Be a strategic thought leader in the ever-changing payments landscape in the market.  

 

Skills:

 

  • Experience working with payments industry participants and relationships with acquirers, processors, schemes and financial institutions.
  • Strategic thinker with hands on profile with ability to easily communicate strategy to different levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and ability to apply payments expertise to real life situations.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and cross functional environment with proven track record of delivering projects.
  • Strong negotiation and relationships management skills.
  • Great influencer - make positive and strong personal impressions on others in order to affect the development of the business by influencing or negotiating.
  • The candidate should bring a high level of enthusiasm and the ability to organize large groups with disparate objective
