AirMap is looking for a Project Manager, and a technical leader that can establish and maintain a vision for its global UTM solution that supports our technology strategy. You will be tasked with refining that vision and leading the project pipeline to ensure we are working towards said vision. As a key contributor, you will take a servant-leader role in establishing, maintaining, and evolving the reference architecture state.

A successful candidate for this position must have work experience from technology companies (preferred from large internet and cloud companies) and he/she will have many of the following skills and/or attributes to qualify for the job. This role reports to AirMap’s Senior Vice President

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plans showing key deliverables, milestones, and dependencies for your assigned project'
  • Must have SDLC Project Management Experience
  • Act as liaison between software developers located across the globe.
  • Proven track record in development, testing, integration and deployment of enterprise wide applications
  • Ensure that projects are proactively managed, executed according to schedules and on budget, and issues are resolved promptly
  • Directs and coordinates the efforts of staff assigned to several projects simultaneously ensuring that all are completed on time, within budget and meets business requirements.
  • Coordinate with change management & DevOps to ensure that new version of software is deployed properly.
  • Interact with Product Management, Operations, and other internal teams to ensure our product reflects market needs, that the development group is resourced appropriately to satisfy support requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience successfully managing projects through the entire project lifecycle.
  • PMP certification highly desirable
  • High energy, results driven
  • Team building, coaching and mentoring
  • Strong communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Able to influence and build consensus
  • Record of delivering results against rigorous project schedules
  • Must adhere to best practice standards in project delivery management and governance and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Core competence in Resourcing, Communications, Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to share knowledge with others in a clear and concise manner

Bonus points if:

  • You have experience with mapping technologies and handling geospatial data.
  • You’ve managed projects using platform services in a multi-cloud environment.
  • You love drones and are excited about the future of autonomous flight.

Education:

  • Required: BA/BS in Computer Science or related field obtained from a top ranked university
  • MBA preferred
