PeerStreet is seeking a Scrum Master with the ability to oversee multiple teams and execute on engineering development that will improve the customer experience.

PeerStreet is a two-sided marketplace for investing in real estate debt. Everyday investors have newfound access to quality, high-yield real estate investments that were previously only available to endowments and other large institutions. These new investors provide an expanded pool of capital that borrowers and lenders can use for their real estate purchases and projects.

We are hiring a Scrum Master for the Supply side of the platform. The supply team works with our lenders and borrowers, focusing on developing the best origination, funding, and servicing experience. They build software that manages the loan origination/underwriting process, helps lenders track the lifecycle of their loans, and enables lenders to recycle capital. You will be the point person responsible for the big development picture of each sprint for the scrum teams involved in building this platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Scrum Master for multiple teams with a focus on promoting Agile values and practices as well as a culture of continuous improvement to deliver high quality products and services to our customers
  • Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, etc
  • Work closely with Product Manager/Product Owner and Development Lead counterparts to ensure user stories in the backlog are "development-ready" and that deliverables and timeframes are consistent with business priorities
  • Track iteration status and resolve impediments or blocked user stories as needed
  • Contribute to quarterly planning, project scheduling and release management
  • Facilitate meetings and cross-team coordination to resolve dependencies, manage expectations and achieve alignment with stakeholders as a Scrum Master
  • Ensure successful deliverable completion despite challenges of varying complexity
  • Co-creates new ideas with the team to improve performance and productivity
  • Document processes and help define improvements by working with teams to identify opportunities to increase efficiency
  • Facilitates data-driven team analysis of metrics to identify trends and perform experiments for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned

We are looking for a Scrum Master who has:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably BSCS, BSEE or similar) or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' hands-on experience as Scrum Master for software development teams practicing Agile/Scrum
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM)
  • Demonstrated end-to-end software development life cycle (SDLC) implementation experience delivering multiple high quality, customer-facing commercial software offerings on time using Agile methodologies
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection and other Scrum techniques
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders to build strong relationships across the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire continuous improvement
  • Data-driven analysis skills for measuring and managing delivery
  • Proven organizational, time management, planning and prioritization skills
  • Comfortable operating in rapidly changing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a software developer or engineer in a SaaS organization
  • General project management experience
  • Hands-on experience managing projects that interface with external, third-party stakeholders and vendors
  • Interest in Real Estate
  • Passion for disruptive technologies
  • A desire to grow with an organization
