New Restaurant Opening (NRO) Training Manager

The NRO training manager will work to continually improve training for new restaurant openings and manage a team of NRO Leads and NRO Trainers to implement necessary changes. The NRO Training Manager will support our NRO training team, manage the logistics and development of a team a team of Trainers, and work with Regional Training Partners to identify training and business support needs in between openings. The NRO Training Manager must be comfortable working on different projects in between openings and communicating cross-functionally with all levels of leadership at sweetgreen.

Core Work Activities:

NRO Training management 

  • Lead the process for recruiting, identifying, and selecting Certified NRO Trainers.
  • Manage, develop, and validate NRO training team including 1-2 NRO Leads
  • Lead the process for training NRO Trainers around specific core restaurant opening training skills
  • Create scalable systems and training processes. Evolve NRO training content / curriculum when needed in partnership with other members of the Learning and Development team - audit materials to ensure compliance with evolving SOPs and new restaurant formats
  • Conduct post-training restaurant opening evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training
  • Provide coaching and development support based on training performance leading to high potential talent development opportunities for the team

NRO Training Process improvement

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the NRO processes
  • Support new initiatives and projects focused on operational excellence as we continue to expand our national footprint

Requirements & Skills

  • 3+ years in a restaurant management/leadership role, 2+ years NRO experience
  • Resourceful, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Flexibility and ability to react professionally to changes in schedules and/or project direction
  • Strong understanding of P&L statement, inventory management software (Compeat preferred), & scheduling tools (Crunchtime preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve while working collaboratively and communicating proactively and frequently
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners to meet deliverables
  • Proficient in Word, G Suite (google sheets, hangout, etc), and excel
  • Ability to travel frequently with flexible working hours

Schedule

  • Full-time, salaried position
  • Travel time subject to change: approx 50% of the month
