Seeking experienced Project Managers for a 2-year period to assist with DOJ compliance, requiring extensive project management experience and certifications.
Public Works, at the direction of CEO, is seeking experienced Project Managers (levels I, II, and/or III) for a period of 2 years stationed at CEO’s office to assist with DOJ compliance.
Candidates are required to have at least 5 years (PMI), 10 years (PMII) or 15 years (PMIII) of progressive experience in managing building projects through planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, construction, and close-out.
Candidates are required to possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years (PMI), 10 years (PMII) or 15 years of project management and concurrent field construction experience.
- Project Management Certification
- Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Education background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience with County of Los Angeles Building Code and Standards.
- Strong leadership, excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to use suite of Microsoft Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Work experience in project planning and development.
- Experience working in an operational facility including maintenance type work.
- Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
- Ability to develop and control project scope.
- Ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Ability to develop and review project schedules.
- Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
- Ability to run the day-to-day management aspects of projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings.
- Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders.
- Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges.
- Effectively recognize and elevate relevant project issues to superiors.
- Ability to set and manage project expectations.
- Ability to read architectural plans.
- Ability to review plans and specifications for accurateness, conformity to current codes and regulations, and provide feedback, as appropriate.
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely to decision-makers.
- Ability to develop clear, concise, and grammatically correct written documents/correspondence.
- Working on projects with multiple phases and construction contracts.
Experience in the following is desirable:
- Knowledge of Public Contracts Code, CEQA, and Detention Operation
- Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 15 - Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities
- Knowledge of Board of State and Community Corrections Standards
- Los Angeles County Public Works protocols and procedures.
Salary dependent on education and experience. Salary range: $125K-$175K
