At Veracity, we aim to be a different kind of insurance partner – one that is free from outside investors, venture capital, or the pressures of a corporate parent.

Ours is a culture of empowerment – one that believes in effort, results, and accountability. We believe that transparency fosters trust, trust fosters growth, and that growth drives innovation. Our commitment to rigorous evaluation and relentless execution lead to rapid evolution.

We answer only to the small business owners we serve, and this independence allows us to stay focused on what matters most: helping their businesses thrive by providing expert guidance and best-in-class insurance policies.

We’re growing fast and want you to be a part of it!

We’re seeking an organized and hands-on Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Technical Project Manager, Automation & AI, this hybrid role plans and delivers projects across the company from scoping to close, including system implementations and integrations, automation and AI initiatives, accounting and finance projects, and process improvements. You will coordinate cross-functional contributors on larger projects and complete tasks directly on smaller ones, running 3–6 concurrent projects of varying types and sizes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with sponsors and department leaders to define scope, goals, deliverables, success criteria, and ownership before work begins
  • Build and maintain project plans with timelines, milestones, dependencies, budgets, and resource needs
  • Help leadership prioritize competing requests and balance capacity across departments
  • Lead cross-functional projects, assign tasks, and hold contributors accountable to deadlines – completing project tasks yourself when needed, especially on smaller projects
  • Track progress, scope, budget, and risks – removing blockers and managing change requests
  • Escalate early, with options and a recommendation, when a project is at risk
  • Work with vendors and system partners when a project depends on them
  • Share clear status updates tailored to the audience, from team members to the C-suite
  • Run kickoffs, working sessions, and status meetings, and document decisions and next steps
  • Plan rollout, training, and communication for the teams each project affects
  • Confirm deliverables meet acceptance criteria and hand off cleanly to the business owner or support team
  • Lead post-project retrospectives to capture lessons learned and apply them to future projects
  • Establish and continuously improve lightweight project management standards, templates, intake processes, and tools that scale as the company grows
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience leading cross-functional projects end to end, with a proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects of different types and sizes – for example finance, systems, data, product, or process projects
  • Comfort working hands-on, balancing coordination and stakeholder management with doing project tasks yourself – and judgment about how much structure each project needs, from a simple task list to a full project plan
  • Working knowledge of waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methods, with judgment about when to use each – and the ability to manage schedules, budgets, and risk logs accurately
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, Asana, or Smartsheet, and with Excel or Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with AI and automation tools such as n8n, Zapier, and ChatGPT/Claude and how to apply them to improve team processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders from individual contributors to executive leadership, both technical and non-technical – and strong organization to keep structure and momentum across competing priorities

Perks

  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Amazing work-life balance with 4 weeks of Paid Time Off
  • 10 Paid Company Holidays with 2 floating holidays
  • 401K Programs with employer match
  • Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
