Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Technical Project Manager with experience in complex environments within the cable, broadband, or telecommunications industry to lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional technical programs supporting the introduction of new products and technologies. This role is responsible for driving execution across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation from concept through deployment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in engineering and/or technical operations, preferably within the cable, telecommunications, or broadband industry, and is comfortable working in highly technical environments involving hardware, network architecture, and emerging technologies. This individual must be able to quickly learn new engineering concepts, communicate effectively with senior executives, and drive programs to completion with a high degree of ownership and accountability. This position is a long-term remote role. All qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship or visa transfers. Please note that we do not work C2C.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for complex engineering initiatives supporting new product implementation and deployment.
- Partner with engineering, operations, product management, and executive leadership to define program objectives, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution across multiple technical workstreams.
- Develop and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, and executive-level status reporting.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, concise presentations for executive leadership and business stakeholders.
- Identify program risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively remove obstacles to keep initiatives on track.
- Quickly develop an understanding of new hardware platforms, network architectures, and engineering terminology to effectively engage technical teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, drive decisions, and ensure accountability across stakeholders.
- Monitor program performance using key metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Foster strong relationships across engineering, operations, and business organizations to enable successful product delivery.
Requirements
- 7 years of program or project management experience leading complex technical initiatives.
- Experience supporting engineering and/or technical operations organizations.
- Proven experience leading new technical product implementation or complex technology delivery programs.
- Cable, telecommunications, broadband, or related industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with engineering teams focused on hardware development, network infrastructure, technical architecture, or related technologies.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand new engineering concepts, hardware platforms, technical architectures, and engineering terminology.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional programs involving engineering, operations, product management, and business stakeholders.
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills with experience creating executive-level presentations, strategic updates, and program reviews.
- Strong organizational, planning, and program governance skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven experience identifying program risks, developing mitigation strategies, and driving successful program execution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or traditional program management environments is preferred.
- PMP, PgMP, or other project/program management certification is a plus.
- Demonstrates a high level of ownership, accountability, curiosity, persistence, confidence, emotional intelligence (EQ), and attention to detail.
Education/Certifications
- PMP or similar certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- MBA preferred
Compensation
Sand Cherry Associates is required by Colorado law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a long term consulting engagement with an annual salary range of $115,000-130,000. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
