The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Project Manager is responsible for managing Legal Operations projects or programs, supporting the broader Global Legal Affairs organization.  This role collaborates on program strategy – supporting business case development and project plans – and ensures integration of projects and adjusts scope, timing, and budgets as needed.  The desired candidate also communicates with Legal leadership, IT leadership, and other Solventum business and legal leaders as appropriate – communicating project status, achievement or impacts to key milestones, risks, mediations, and relevant financial or resource tracking updates. 

This role is responsible for delivery of all assigned projects contained in the Legal Operations project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements.  Partners with senior leadership of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

As a Project Manager - Legal Operations, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Project Execution & Oversight:

  • Lead special projects and programs; manage and prioritize rollout and tasks pursuant to a PMO roadmap and timeline
  • Oversee project execution consistency and standards enforcement
  • Liaise with Legal Operations Manager to develop and manage performance and success metrics; adhere to consistent reporting format and cadence

Project Planning & Governance:

  • In consultation with Legal Operations Manager, design, implement and facilitate the overall project Governance process to support Senior Leadership decision making
  • Assist with implementing annual project planning processes that align with the overall Governance process; ensure consistent execution across Legal Affairs
  • Collaborate with Legal Operations Manager on the development and implementation of a standard set of measures that Legal Affairs leaders will use to approve project decisions, which align with enterprise strategy
  • Ensure established Governance processes drive clear project prioritization, providing relevant information to support resource allocation
  • Establish the ongoing Governance rhythm review of upcoming and yellow/red/high risk projects to enable decision making
  • Utilize Change Management best practices, including relevant tools and templates

Legal Information Technology:

  • Assist Legal Operations Manager with assessment of current legal systems and development plans for future system replacement, upgrades, integrations, migrations, etc.
  • Collect, update, and manage department requirements; develop and maintain relevant training guides, job aids, and SOPs
  • Lead training and development efforts for Super Users or Power Users in Legal Affairs

Process Management & Optimization:

  • Partner with Legal Operations Manager to lead and coordinate process improvement efforts
  • Assemble and maintain a catalog of relevant Legal business processes; assign and engage Business Process Owners
  • Ensure all legal process documents are accurate and up to date
  • Business Systems Analysis: create and maintain Requirements Traceability matrices. Perform requirements elicitation as needed with key stakeholders, to document functional and non-functional system requirements
  • Implement continuous improvement practices and procedures

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND five years business experience, including demonstrated project management skills and experience with portfolio and program management of projects

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED AND nine years of business experience, including demonstrated project management skills and experience with portfolio and program management of projects

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: 

  • At least four years of experience in Legal Operations in a corporate legal department setting
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Strong ability to communicate concisely with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management and key external stakeholders and proven ability to engage, influence and align stakeholders
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Scrum, Comp-TIA, CBAP)
  • Ability to develop and implement new methodologies or services
  • Capacity to think strategically to identify issues and develop long-term solutions

Work location:

  • Remote

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $106,331 - $129,960, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
