The Role
We're looking for a strategic Project Manager to lead high-impact initiatives that shape how our organization manages, supports, and scales its workforce. You'll drive the delivery of complex people systems programs, particularly via HR Technology and our HCM (Workday). What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic, multi-workstream initiatives including Workday implementations and enhancements (Workday’s HCM core, ATS, onboarding, performance management, learning management system), vendor transitions and HR system integrations, job architecture and compensation structures, and people technology-related components of enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Own full project lifecycle: scope definition, planning, risk management, execution, and post-launch stabilization

  • Translate HR business requirements into technical specifications and system configurations

  • Act as delivery lead and trusted advisor for Workday-centered programs, bridging HR strategy and technical execution

  • Partner with HR, IT, and external vendors to design scalable, future-ready solutions

  • Anticipate and manage cross-functional dependencies across recruiting, onboarding, performance, payroll, and compliance systems

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align priorities, navigate tradeoffs, and optimize delivery capacity across the portfolio

  • Deliver concise, executive-ready communications on program status, risks, and decision points

  • Influence outcomes and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Support project management professionals through coaching, goal-setting, and performance development

  • Assist in establishing PMO delivery standards, frameworks, and best practices that elevate team execution

  • Contribute to PMO resource planning and strategic capability building

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years leading complex, cross-functional programs in fast-paced environments

  • Proven track record delivering Workday initiatives (HCM, ATS, onboarding, performance, LMS, or compliance modules)

  • Demonstrated success managing vendor transitions and third-party integrations

Qualifications

  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders

  • Exceptional planning, prioritization, and risk management capabilities

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to drive clarity in evolving environments

  • Strong business acumen with understanding of HR operations and technology ecosystems

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
