Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

The Project Engineer I performs engineering design and calculations for excavation and structural shoring schemes in support of Sunbelts product lines. The position requires knowledge of basic structural engineering analysis and geotechnical soil properties. The Project Engineer I uses engineering principles for structural analysis and design to produce project calculations and drawings under the direction of a professional engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares calculations and drawings under the direction of a professional engineer
  • Creates drawings in support of Sunbelt equipment
  • Analyzes reports, project construction drawings, maps, testing data, topographical and geologic data to determine design parameters
  • Interacts with customers, sales, and operations
  • May be required to attend meetings or job sites with customers or sales/operations staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in structural or geotechnical engineering, from an accredited four (4) year university or college
  • Familiarity with structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and soil analysis.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Mathcad, and AutoCAD or REVIT

Base Pay Range: $69,872.00 - 96,074.00

Sunbelt also provides a comprehensive benefits package to its full-time employees. This package includes health, dental and vision plans, 401(k), volunteer time off, short-term and long-term disability, accident, life and travel insurance, as well as flexible spending, tuition reimbursement, college savings, EAP and length of service awards. You will become eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days from your start date. Sunbelt offers team members the following time off from work, subject to Sunbelt’s policies: twelve to twenty-five vacation days depending on years of service; five sick days; six paid holidays, two paid half day holidays, two floating holidays, one inclusion day, and one volunteer day (unless specified in a collective bargaining agreement).
