A day in the life

The Project Developer, Distributed Energy will lead solar PV and energy storage development efforts in the West region for the Distributed Energy Solutions team. You will work directly with corporate sustainability leaders to develop energy solutions that support both their business and the Prologis mission of achieving net zero emissions by 2040. This position will be ultimately responsible for executing the market strategy in the region, owning revenue targets, and ensuring our customers get the best possible experience throughout the process.

In this role you will build direct relationships with customers, partners, and other key stakeholders. You will lead all internal activities that are required to develop a project from idea to shovel ready. You will have the full support of the broad Prologis organization, consisting of property staff with decades of experience, along with the real estate industry’s leading energy and sustainability team. Strong initiative, outstanding communication skills, and an understanding of energy markets and project development are key to success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct all aspects of project development with Prologis execution team staff and outside partners, covering origination, interconnection, engineering, project underwriting, construction, and operations.
  • Work in partnership with the Energy origination teams to meet contracted revenue targets.
  • Forecast and plan the future of the West U.S. addressable market, identifying new potential utility programs or technologies that could enhance our value proposition, changes in utility rate tariffs or other rules, etc.
  • Drive marketing efforts in the region, working with the Prologis sustainability team to develop action-oriented customer messaging, and representing Prologis at conferences and events.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in the energy sector
  • 2+ years of experience in Sales and/or Project Development working within a target/quota-based performance environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a multi-site portfolio of projects and proven track record meeting or exceeding annual MW targets
  • Experience with forecasting, pipeline management, and workflow management
  • Experience managing outside partners (i.e., EPC, engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with a CRM system. Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-player, relationship-builder and collaborative nature
  • Willingness to travel 25%

Preferred:

  • Experience developing distributed solar or battery project preferred.
  • A general understanding of Industrial Real Estate, Brokerage and Warehousing preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.

Hiring Salary Range of: $133,000 - $157,000. Salary to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  This role is also eligible for Prologis’ commission plan.
