The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences, Division of Environmental Health is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual to assist in a research study called the “Maternal and Developmental Risks from Environmental and Social Stressors (MADRES)” Study. The study is investigating the effects of air pollutants, chemicals, and stress on maternal and child health outcomes.
Employment involves (1) completing survey questionnaires by phone in English and Spanish; (2) entering data into computer databases; (3) scheduling appointments for research visits with participants and potentially conducting research visits to conduct study procedures; (4) assisting with creation of study documents and questionnaires; (5) sample processing of bio specimens such as urine, nails, and hair; (6) maintaining computer-based databases sample inventory and accurate records of procedures and SOPs used to conduct experiments (7) providing administrative support to the research study staff and the study manager; and (8) other duties as assigned. Fluent Spanish and English writing and speaking skills are required, as is the ability to work well with different groups, including research faculty and staff.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities, problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects. Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, are essential. Prior experience in a research environment and biology laboratory techniques is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in public health or biological sciences or equivalent experience preferred. Training on biohazardous materials and laboratory safety will be provided.
Hourly Range:
The hourly rate range for this position is $25.96 .
